The new Anita book "Micah" goes on sale this Tuesday and I'm chomping at the bit all ready chomping at the metaphorical bit.
To make things even better a second Anita book "Danse Macabre" drops later in the year. Two Anita books in one year? That hasn't happened since the 90's!
Oh I apologize if any of you masters or dominars feel this isn't a main discusion thread, but it does deal directlly vampires.
I already have mine and i have read it all. I read it in one day. It is very short but it will hold us off till june for her new book.
i love Her books. i am up to Burnt Offerngs and i started one of Her fairie books, A Kiss of Shadows - wow.
Anyway, Danse Macabre is named after a club, like a lot of Her titles, but i recommend the poem by Baudelaire (my profile) pic.
Baudelaire's Danse Macabre is about a skeleton getting ready for a ball - real goth stuff.
I discovered her books a little under two years ago and have been hooked ever since the very first one. I read through all of them within a matter of months I think and have been anxiously awaiting Micah's release to get my next fix.
I'm not normally a quick reader but I devour one of her books in about two days normally.
ya, I love her. I'm on the last maty gentry book... ok I havent started... but I cant wait to.
I just heard og her at the begining of September and im on Burnt Offerings already. i love her writing she's so good I cant wait to get the newest one!
*dancing around* yes yes yes.......and she is doing a book signing @ the Barnes and Noble in St. Peters, Missouri Tuesday night woo hoo.......
I cannot wait!!!
Omg if I didn't have to work I'd be there. It's only five or six hours from me.
When I read Obsidian Butterfly, I listened to 'good news for people who love bad news' by modest mouse... I was listening to it in my car the other day, and remembering every thing I felt when I read it. It was so great.
Read it! Loved it! SOOOOO can't wait to read the next one
Yeah Obsidian Butterfly was one of the best. The third book(was it the laughing corpse? I can't remember) that was my favorite to date.
I can not stand the Anita Blake series. I couldn't even finish Incubus Dreams. It was sex 24/7 and just came to the point that it was blatantly ridiculous. Laurell K. Hamilton is a good writer, but to me the series has dissolved into crap.
Thanks fr this thread im WAY behind and will probibly not pick this up til may but im glad you reminded me
NeverInside *giggles at your name for a second as my mind is in the gutter* I had similair complaints about the last few books. I love the Anitaverse but any more the books are 75% sex. But some one told me she's going back to basics so I'm willing to give her another book or two worth of my time before I write all those wonderful characters off for good.
EvilAdam: You're not the only one who has got that idea from my name. x_x;
Though, I really never read any of her other books except three fourths of Incubus Dreams. I guess I sort of spoiled the earlier books since I now know what happens. T_T;
Yesh she did get into sex alot to the point I hated anita for it. *L* ...BUT... this last book only had one real sex scene in it.. it was great. and reading the inserpt(so can't spell) I can't wait to read the next one..in my opinion "GO RONNIE" I mean the chick had a point. The woman is a slut..FDL...but hey I still love the series.
Trust me NI read the first 9 books or so and you'll be hooked. There was a little sex after book six but it wasn't untill ten (Narcissus in Chains) that it got out of hand.
I wish LKH would just write a vampire fiction series and an erotica series and stop mixing them, but I'm excited to hear there isn't as much sex in the new book.
Man there isn't a lot of love for Anita tonight, but I'm bumping this just in case any one who's interested doens't know the book comes out tomorow.
Micah is already out. I picked it up on the 16th (I think it came out on the 14th) and read it in 2 hours. It was good for a novella but did not satisfy my craving for a full length novel. I'm not going to say anymore I don't want to spoil it for anyone!!
*LKH's website says it comes out on Feb. 28th so I am not sure why it came out early.*
Hmm wasn't out at my Barnes and Noble then, belive me I scoured the store last time I was there. Oh well heading there in the morning to get it.
I got mine at Wal-Mart, I was browsing in the book aisle and found it. Maybe they accidentally released it early? I don't know!
Hmm, our Wal Mart usually doesn't have hers untill they hit paper back. :(
yea i'm going to the book store :) i have all her books hard back :)
OMG! I am so happy! And poor I can't get it for a bit.. EERR!!! BUT I hope it lacks the crazy a lot of sex the last few have had...
It is released as paperback so it's not that expensive, I got mine for $4.84.
*dances and whines* gotta go to the store...*twitch* gotta go now...
I'm so excited!!
Okay it's out so I'm going to close this thread now, as I'll have a review of it up in a day or so as part of my Hall of Fossor duties for Umbrae Octo. So keep an eye out for that.
