Not all the real ones do. many do not actually. They can feed psychically. And it is for the energy that they need. They lack an energy that they can gain from the blood, not the blood itself but the energy IN the blood.....thats about all i know about sangs...if thats even correct....
First of all for the same reason why people eat.... Nutrients and in most cases a quick boost in adrenaline... Second mental absorption of energy is also taking place.... Some vamps do not need to drink blood for this mental absorption... They can do it by just being near you and focusing (psi vamps). For others (sort-a like me) it's a "trigger mechanism" that aids in mental absorption.
vampires drink blood form the living to substain a material substance along with their immortality.
There is also another type of transfer being made... It's hard to explain... Like an essence being absorbed...hmmmm
It is a need and a desire. But let's not forget that there aren't sanguine vampires only.
Personally, i drink blood because I like the taste and the connection I gain with the person I feed from. Straight after feeding I get a rush of energy (usually sexual), which turns into the tingly light-headedness akin to an energy feed. I do both types of feeding, I enjoy both, but obviously psi-feeding is more convenient!
Well said, deathnitegirl. I'm a psy vampire, and I never drink blood. Sanguinarians do, and as many have already said, it is to absorb the high concentration of energy that blood contains.
As for the fictional, immortal vampires, who knows? And better yet, who cares?
as already stated, not all vampyres have to drink blood and the ones that do are not able to produce the "life force" that other people are able to that flows through their blood
only some vamps drink blood but not all some can feed mental but those who do feed on blood do it to substanin their body and gain power and stragnth
