How many of you know about Rodrick Justin Ferrel!? And whats your opinion of him & what he did!?
For those that are not familiar with this case Read here.
Personally I think people such as this are mentally ill. End of story. I don't care how bad your nihilism is; take it out on yourself, not others. I find it more of media sensationalism with the killer encouraging it for what little fame it gets him.
I don't think that what Rod did is representative of vampires. Although many of us can relate to been vampires, and I believe most of us have not gone through the extreme abuse that Rob had. Whether science wants to classify him with AS or what ever, most of us do not turn to murder as a part of our identity as vampires.
I do feel sorry for the traumatic experiences that he had to go thro & i think it did affect him...what he did will never be forgotten but its what he grew up in....its what he felt was the "norm"..so they say!!
I've also got the case fil on my journal if you'd like to have a read of it!
I have the book about this and yes the guy is not right in the head there is no excuse for what he and the others did but thats just the way I see it
This guy really needs pills or else but tis a good thing he was put on death row, you dont kill just like that even when sick, there is pre event to lead to it and to show it will happen, plus it was plan, and prepare so it was sick and the punishement is well chosen. It is sick that this was called about vampires when there is no such thing in the vampire comunity,w ell at least the real one, and the only part in the murder itself that was interpreted, other then the words of the killer, was the fact that he drank some blood, I mean how many killers drink the blood o their victims? Alot. So its just another way to toss aside and accuse what dont fit in the "normal" criteria. News paper cash.
I belive he was trying to play the whole "I am sick in the head thing" which is funny cause if you are well enough to want a good defense then you are well enough to know what you did was wrong........
i agree with you dragonspawn
if you are well enough to know you need a good defence team then you were well enough to know what you did
i think he is sick in the head but well enough to know what he was doing and is just trying to get out of it now and using being sick as an excuse to get out of it
there is no excuse for what he did and he needs to be punished for what he did
He knew exactly what he was doing...if you can do the crime then you can do the time...only if a doctor says your completely mental can you be excused, but even then you sooooo deserve to be put away in a mental ward for life!!
He was definitely sick and was being raised by a mother who was not all there in the head either. I have the book of the whole case and that kid was to controlling and planned out so much that I don't think it was so much a case of the boy is ill but that he really was criminally insane to be able to plan out the murders the way he did with no emotion.
I personally feel that when you are young you sometimes let the lines between fantasy and reality blur. Especially for those whos' reality sucks.
I think most when young are impresionable and can be led and influenced in the wrong or right way depending on our up bringing and the people we surround ourselves with.
As a father, I know I make plenty of mistakes, but I do as much as I can to help my daughters. There is a point in which they are on there own, I know, but I will do as much as I can.
It's sad some people are "hell bent" on taking their kids down with them, or they just don't care.
extreme abuse still does not give anyone the right to do what he did
He was sick & what he did was wrong. Im amazed that people actually followed him around & believed what he was telling them. Weve all in some way or another had a bad childhood but that doesnt mean that you should go out & start killing people. He was very much aware of what he was doing & what he did, so as another person already stated, you do the crime you pay the time.....
I have heard about what he did. It was fucked up. It just shows you not to trust anyone and to watch your freakin kids.
What he did is just wrong. Abuse or not he had not right to kill people. Hell I was abused all my life and I'm not out there killing people. And saying he is a vampire just gives those of that live as vampire a bad name.
Vampires or humans? I think very race has it's stupid people.
i do not think he is a vampire bloodangel
he just used that as an excuse
lol but i think humans and vampires both have stupid people there is no discrimanation when it comes to stupidity lol
And there are those smart people that do stupid things. I agree that he is not a vampire just a dumb ass using it as an excuse.
he is a lot smater than he is making himself sound
if he was not he would not be making sure he has the best defense and having the stories he has came up with
which makes him worse than someone stupid b/c he knew exactly what he was doing
Rod Ferrel definitely had some psychological issues. No person in their right mind would do such a thing. I lived in Florida when this occurred. I feel sorry for the family of the victims, especially the daughter.
What this guy did was wrong, but to say he didnt have problems is insane. Abuse like that can warp a persons mind to the point were they dont know what they are doing...
what he did was obscure and for wrong reasons because of his girlfriend who said her life was miserable, so on so forth but his name is legend. As well as a group of kids in kentucky who did this a few years after him or maybe it was before him. a group of satanists took in a family, murdered them and strung them out like crosses, only the boy i believed survived with critical conditions. What rod Ferrell and the group from kentucky did gave kids the images to maybe do that themselves. Kids want to get out and they may look upon what he had done and do just that. I watched a very good documentary on Rod Ferrell a few months back. the whole issue and his mothers issues. very interesting
i think they should put in a mental institution not jail
he was menatlly ill and should be kept far from societywho knows though he could have been a vampire lol yeah and im george dubya
RavenKnight no matter what you have had done to you growing up gives you no excuse to do what he did
and i do not think he needs mental institution
he needs to be locked up by himself in jail
"I personally feel that when you are young you sometimes let the lines between fantasy and reality blur. Especially for those whos' reality sucks."
lol....When I was young I can't say I had any problems seperating fantasy from reality, right from wrong....Maybe on MINOR things, but going around murdering people? Seriously?
I believe Rod Ferrel is a murderer plain and simple. He does not represent the vampire community and in fact throws more problems onto the laps of vampires with his selfish claims and behaviour. He gets what is coming to him.
one word Cuuckoo. I think he just got too into that roleplaying stuff and believed all of it.
ok creepy Rogue but yeah

two words.... Out There.....
no matter what level of unbalance a person has, there is no excuse for the actions...
think mental insane, easy to blame something when u commit a crime. I dont think it has anything to do with vampire it more he commited a hidous crime in anger and ppl just blame something they are not sure or kn anything about
