Following on from my thread entitled "Knowing Magick", I wonder if it is really possible to understand all magicks.

Setting aside the fact that those who practise witchcraft, all to often practise blindly so as to understand the spell more.

What I wonder is do any of us really understand what the true force of magick actually is.

In my opinion it is one thing to understand and know thyself, another to know magick and understand the spells one weaves.

However, when it comes to actually understanding the infinate workings of the raw power of magick itself, how many of us can honestly say that they do understand?

I for one know myself, magick and spellcraft well. I understand how and why my spells work, but I cannot particularly say that I understand the infinate workings of Raw Magick.

What say you?

Well, if you believe that reality is governed by thought and nothing more, then magick is simply your thoughts creating a change in reality. There are other things you can do to build your focus and invoke energies to assist your ritual, but in the end, it's all about manipulation of subtle energies to make your will into reality. Make sense? Anyone agree?

I know what magick and spellcraft are, but can you truly understand the inner workings of those "subtle energies"?

Can anyone really say that they understand those energies? They are innumerable, and each one behaves differently. Imagine the practice, control, knowledge, will, and sheer focus one would need to even come close to understanding them all...

And there you understand my point to this thread.

magic is the result of our taughs using the quantum physic that is our body and the univers surouding us, so making our spell appear, it is simple quantum physic...and I am not joking here.

i was one that belived in things i could not see.. until now. i would love to know more about witchies and magick.

Honestly I don't claim to understand all the intricacies.

I think this has pretty much already been answered. My personal opinion is that no, one person cannot hope to understand everything. You can specialise in different areas, and learn those indepth, and hopefully understand quite a lot about those. But as to understanding everything... well maybe if we had a lifespand of several thousand years. And even then your knowledge would continue changing during that... So the short answer is no =P

The problem with anything that has to be understood is that it all hangs together one day, and then falls apart the next day when someone finds out something else that does not fit

The laws of physics were understood until they showed that a bumble bee can't fly. They didn't try and change the understanding of physics, they just made an exception to the rule.

Using that train of thought I am sure that, someday someone will say that they understand magic but when their understanding is proven wrong - they will simply say there a lot of exceptions ...

quantum physics well to put it simple as I am no physycian or scientist, but what I leanr from one of them and the books and dvd, is that we are all energy, take a microscope and you will see that to the basic, after the cellule and the electron and all that you are pur energy that is making the action of the quantum physic possible, since everything and every living thing is made fo energy, no exeption, then we by our taughs and desire and action create the actions of the quantum creating what we want usig magic, some dont need magic they actually are abel to activate that energy without it, the ones using magic, me inlcud, do it using spells and curses, but also on everyday basis at a certain points since we are already aware of using this quantum energy in us.

hey i wish i could understand alot of things exspecially magick..

im willing to open my mind and learn but how long will it take to understand all of it who knows if i ever will..

Artemka, hello again. I find your conclusion intruiging. I wonder if you would like to expand some more for those who may not understand what it is you are highlighting.

Cryingmoon, thanks for explaining the basic idea around your opinion that the true nature of magick is within us all as explained by quantum physics.

Since your first post I have explored the idea a little and, in the main, i tend to agree. However, do you think that science is the best answer to the question in hand as there are many things that even scientists cannot explain, even with the use of quantum theory?

how can one know all kinds of magic? you would need many years and be a freaking bookworm. who has that much time on their hands? knowing source of all magic is another thing. for that you wold first need a personal experience to relate to it. then try to understand what you experienced.

People, please, read my original post properly. I am not asking about knowing magick, i am asking about understanding the pure raw energies of magick....not the spells or rituals associated with it.

I know nothing of magick yet I do feel that one should totally know and understand what they are doing before using it. I mean what if you accidently did something that caused alot of harm, because you did not have the full knowledge of what you were doing, that would really sux in my opinion.

If any one truly understood how it works in every aspect it would be science not magic. That is the point behind the title. I have tried to study and figure it out through science for along time. From the idea of electro magnetic fields being released to alter things around to maybe the "mind" that know one sees produces energy and sends it to accomplish the task but these are "unseen forces" so until we can learn to study them though cameras or in a lab I doubt it will be truly understood/

I agree, but this is not about understanding the spell or ritual you are casting, this is about understanding the raw power behind the spells, the very power that makes it work.

right that is what I am saying. It is not about the ritual it is about raw power (Which I believe you create some how). Trying to figure that out how it is created. Where exactly it comes from not how you use it.

Ahh, someone who thinks along the same lines as I do.

Yes, i also believe that you somehow create the power yourself, but at the same time, it is there around everyone at the same time.

The difference is that the raw chaotic energy is always there but one must draw it in and inject some order so as to give it form to create a change within the multiverse.

I like that theory. I have never thought about that and will have to think long and hard. I have always thought that it does cause order per say by your energy taking the energy that is every where and directing it to do what you need it to.
