For those of you who don't know what a 'Astral Vampire' is, they are a spirit of a vampire who is trapped between the physical world and the astral realm. They feed of you when you are sleeping, they might be invisible or appear as a apparition. If they are visible you would most likely see them floating over top of you or on the side of the bed. They feed off your energy like a psy. vamp would, making you feel drained when you wake up. Here is a link for more info. link

I believe that I have experienced this once. I suddenly woke up out of 'rem' sleep and seen and dark figure to the side of my bed with it's hand out over me. It quickly disappeared then I fell right back asleep. I woke up the next morning fully aware of what happen and I felt extremely drained. This was a few years ago, today I can remember the experience like it was yesterday.

My question's are: Has anyone ever experienced this, if so please explain your experience. Does anyone have anymore input on this subject, or alternate explanation's for what they are. Please explain your answers.

I've felt the way you have described before. It's very interesting indeed. Though I personally have never herd of an Astral Vampire, I agree that the possibility is considerable. Just as reports of a human being trapped in the astral realm have been herd, I guess a vampire wouldn't have to be an exception.

I don't recall anything like you describe, happen to me. The only symptom I can attest to is the waking up, even after hours of sleep, drained without energy.

I believe what you are refering to is an Incubus. It is in fact a spectral vampire as described by popular folklore.

The answer to your question, yes...This happends quite often. Usually not feeding, more as an escort for travel...Very often more than one.

Yes, I have experienced this before and they can be incubus' or succubi or even astral parasite that feed off of energies and attach to you when you are in the astral plane, but yes some follow you home as in parasites and astral vamps or the incubus/succubus.

How to deal with these is make sure your sheilds are cleansed and that you are not astrally bleeding, because if you are astrally bleeding they will follow your astral blood or energy home to where you are and attach to you.

First off cleanse yourself and not talking a shower, but magically cleanse yourself and check for unwanted attachments or links and cleanse them off. If you are astrally bleeding heal it and stop the energetic flow. Add more sheilds that are self sustaining and can keep these astral leeches at bay, because these sheilds will allow the beings to feed , but off the sheilds and not you, so these sheilds need to be attached to an energy flow (elemental, universal,etc,etc.). These sheilds do not need your energy and are quite powerful and protective and will keep them at bay from following you home and cleanse them and detach all before you leave the astral plane and they should not bother you after that.

If you need more information message me.

Good and informed responses. I would only add that there are several methods to protect the self from these attacks. If they happen, there are ways to stop them in the process. All it requires is practice and preparedness.

One of my favorite books is Psychic Self Defense by Dion Fortune. There are those that don't like her but she is a classic occultist and has good information about psychic attack during your sleep.

Also remember that psychic attack is very rare. A lot of times we convince ourselves of something that isnt true. Waking up tired is often the sign of a bad dream or just a restless night. Always investigate the experience and weigh carefully before coming to a rash conclusion.

This is some great advice and opinions. I am sure that this wasn't a bad dream, I know that for sure. Now that I think about it there has been other nights where I woke up felling the same way. I just never have expereinced what I seen that night again. I havn't thought of a incubus or succubus, I am going to have to look into them. Astral bleeding that is very interesting I am going to have to read up on that, ty.
