Now I know that this thread posting, and the questions that follow might seem a little 'Hollywood' (like a lot of these postings arent right,) but hang tight and dont blot this out for that reason alone.

Now, recently I've developed a keen interest in certain psionic abilities; abilities that some believe 1% of the population possess. We're talking ESP, Telepathy... that kind of thing.

I'd like to know of any 'actual' studies in this area... and also the possible military applications of such 'talents'

I too have heard of these things, but unfortunately I know nothing of actual research. I am just as interest in this thread as you are.

Seriously I remember seeing tv footage of cold war experiments in this field.

It only stuck in my mind because the Russian lady concerned looked so fierce as she tried to move an item with 'mind' power.

I have never heard of the military funding anything on pyrokinesis myself. I did hear of them funding studies and projects on remote viewing. I believe it is now called project stargate. I think it was under a different name in the past but it has moved around various agencies in the government.

Just teasing....if you google paranormal research you will find some universities that may be able to give you the info your looking for.

I only looked as far as the basics, but if you send them an e-mail I'm sure they will point you in the right direction.

I recall seeing a documentary, Horizon, which talked of the Russians work in this field in the fifties.. wherein they'd showed some of the footage of the experiments then.

Personally, a friend and I worked out brief test for ourselves: turned out, I was a better 'reciever', than sender.

I have seen documentaries on the studies the Nazi regime did on ESP and were experiementing on humans trying to find a way to use the abilities in a military application or for spying. The US and Russia picked up on the experiements after the war and continued the work. So then it tends to all go underground and all become hush-hush.

I have heard of a girl who could see into a humans body, but not her own. I have heard of some strange things, but that is what makes life all the more interesting.

Knowing how the govt works, I have no doubt they have or are looking into it. I truly belive that all this is possible. I think it is real, we should not be close-minded to this. To this day, I think there is someone who looks/thinks/acts etc. just like me out there!

I know the government has been working on these things for years and that even if they were able to do these thing you know the government has found these certain people unless they are very careful and guarded of their gifts.

Some may call it a gift some call it a curse, yet the government just wants them to help in any kind of warfare in my opinion... which is sad really. Just my 2 cents.

Studies in scope and number are endless. The former USSR developed an entire program that was well documented for military and espionage use.

They (and I) believe that 100% of the population possess ESP abilities, but only 1% will acknowledge them.
Studies have been done of course, but most are not widely publicised. People just don't want to know or believe in it, which is foolish.
Test might give good results, but since no one has yet proven how it all works 'scientifically', then they just shake their heads and go on saying that it simply cannot exsist. *scowl*
