In support of Astrology, I've found this interesting bit of trivia.
Kolisko Effect
I'm being a bit lazy and simply asking people to read the article rather than have me explain it.
This actually pertains to two Occult studies - being Alchemy and Astrology, but since the Kolisto Effect primarily demonstrates the corresponding relationship between the celestial bodies and their respective terrestrial metals - I would like to observe and further discuss how it pertains to Astrology.
It seems like such a straightforward "Hypothesis" but unfortunately the Kolisko Effect was never followed up on by any other scientists, due to the Big War.
Do you think this theory holds water, and if so, what are the implications of Kolisko's results?
why not?...gold for example has a specific gravity of 19, and we all know the planets and orbiting sattelites are affected by gravity so why not minerals?.....weather or not that has any grand impact on our lives in this state or in the hear after is open for debate....interesting thread though i will be watching.
My response is aimed at discounting gravity and other known forces as a "popular" cause/effect.
The experiments regarding plant growth and the moon are self evident. But it has little to do with gravity (as it remains nearly the same) and more to do with the effects of light.
As for the solubility and crystallization of metal salts I would say, once more, gravity has almost no effect. The gravitational fields of planets other than Jupiter are nearly non-evident on earth. But, even if they did show, they would have almost no effect on evaporation. Of course in a 0g environment things may be slightly different.
It is plausible that certain alignments with the sun could have a slight noticeable effect but I only say that because we still do not understand the full complexity of duel bodies.
Personally, if these findings are true, I would say that torsion fields and quantum entanglement would be the cause as opposed to gravity and other presumed "astrological" forces.
Well I have actually wondered about the metals thing too. Just like with stones. Gems. They hold much too and do much, according to so many people and books. But I dunno.....I have worn a multitude of gems and honestly, can't tell a difference. I guess I should try again and really pay attention.
Dr. Jay -
I agree that gravity is given too much credit for the astrological effects on our terrestrial elements - however, there are still three other principle forces. EMF waves, for instance, have been found to create anxiety and fear in humans for no other reason than the fact that these EMF waves excite the cellular activity in our bodies (hormone production, cell reproduction, etc.) They are largely to blame for the typical "haunted house".
I would be very interested to hear more about your latter assumption - quantum entanglement?
Dr Jay
If the Wikipedia article is accurate about Torsion Fields then I'm more inclined to believe that Quantum Entanglement is the likely culprit as you suggested.
This however can be characterized as an "astrological" effect. And if that's the case, then because we as humans are composed of the same elements - we are equally as likely to be affected by planetary movements.
Sorry about that. Here's the link to the above mentioned article.
Torsion Fields
I'll pick up from my counter part DrJay :)
You won't find much information on Torsion Fields, especially on Wiki. With a number of controversies surrounding this theory few scientists have, and fewer currently, taken a look at it.
My organization was in the process of building a programme to study torsion but after a loss of several million in funding we were unable to pursue such a radical scientific adventure.
Of the two, TF and QE, I would agree that in this case QE is much more adequate, not to mention much more advanced. However QE does not apply to planetary bodies it only deals with problems raised by the Heisenberg uncertainty principle and other quantum matters.
Obviously when dealing with evaporation you will encounter Qtm. scales but again not planets. You could pose the question of planetary make up in connection to the substances in solution but I doubt you'll have hydrogen on earth with "spin A" and hydrogen on Jupiter with "spin Ab"...itsn't possible.
Then there is the question (which you raised) of human reactions to the Kolisko Effect. Our bodies contain many chemical salts in solution, solute being water. However, if theres one thing we do understand it's how our bodies absorb and expel water. We have done many studies of humans with all amounts of water intake being placed in many normal and stress environments. Water loss is accounted for.
One would think the K.E. should have an equal effect on people and not just small experiments. I am not fully discounting K.E but I have major doubts, as you can see.
Potential explanations can range from dry air, slight temp variations, water contaminates, chemical reactions (heck some things can catch fire if you add water to it), elevation....you get the point.
There may be a real K.E but it's connection with planets specifically is all but unfounded, unless we have really underestimated QE.

Because you are much more versed in this subject than the average bear, could you explain for the audience what "spin" is?
I did a quick Google on Nick Kollerstrom who was referenced in the above article. Aside from his denial of the Holocaust, he seems to be a somewhat reputable character. His book "Newton's Forgotten Lunar Theory : His Contribution to the Quest for Longitude" is located in Universities throughout the US and UK. (I'll probably pick it up this weekend). Up until recently, he held a fellowship at UCL - a top notch school.
According to the above article, he also found marked results with the Kolisko Effect. Unfortunately, because of his conspiracy theories, I doubt that his work will garner much scientific attention. Still, he's published several books regarding farming and the moon, along with a number of articles in different periodicals.
Perhaps QE isn't the culprit in this situation, but there is definitely something to it I think. The rate of crystallization is what is being affected. Could it have anything to do with the general effect of vibration? Cymatics? Oceanne is the specialist in that field.
Laughs~ you give me too much credit WB,and you and the good DRJnsidekik have this thread down.but since you mentioned cymatics ,here something for you to have a look at..Im going to leave any of my personal opinion out right now,you already know my views.
to start
Spin as it pertains to physics and more precisely quantum physics is a form of non-classical angular momentum.
In other words elementary particles spin, not about an axis, but spin according to non-orbital 'angular momentum-like' properties which do not follow spherical harmonics.
There is no real analogy for spin in classical mechanics. Remember quantum mechanics and the world of the very small do not follow the normal laws of nature. Which is why we still have such a hard time understanding how the most basic parts of our universe work.
Because we have no real comparisons to the classical laws we have assigned some rather interesting terms: spin, half-spin, charm, flavor, up and down.
Again the problem with Torsion fields is the lack of understanding and adequate study. It is very easy to get any number of "odd" results and link them to an apparent cause but we must remember that the root-causes of all things are not apparent or even logical.
Quantum entanglement can help explain the relations of particles to energy fields, including cymatics.
When talking about vibrations, energy waves, frequency etc. it is all to easy to lose sight of the underlying factors. That is why research into electromagnetism and sub-particle physics is so important. Being that all things are connected we can see what's happening at the very small because we see it's effects on the very large.
In regards to the shapes on Saturn etc. I offer a partial explanation. When fields, particles, high masses and rotations are in conjuncture with time they will often re-enforce each other and build up "solid" structures. The most common shape is a sphere/circle however they are weak. The stronger shapes are the polygons. When you introduce rotation things are forced(due to EM) to hold themselves up by creating a polygonal structure.
