As a psychic vampire I find stigma associated with us from classic golden dawn Dion Fortune to pulp on the bookshelves to make a buck.
Alister Crowley soon surpassed the golden dawn and started his form of chaos magick, like a teenager leaving home, he had out grown and moved on to deeper things, even the true nature of psychic defense.

Do you find as a psychic Vampire the need to defend from others and if so what do you use?
are you under attack and how do you know?

I wonder how it is a psychic vampire can be attacked in the first place??

What motives could place one to that??

Why would they attack a fellow of the same kind??

And there is no defense is there I mean if there was wouldn't someone be able to like say a normal human be able to defend themselves??

Some people who have the eye see the attacks in dreams

Some people feel a weight upon there chest, needed to pull the ectoplasm from them.

Some people feel fear and oppression, this normally is the first attempt.

Some are ill with no known cause, one becomes lethargic very quickly and the more you do the more tiered you get.

Nervous breakdowns and mental ones

There are many forms of defense out there …. If they work is another story

It has been wrote about, when bruises happen, look for foot marks leading to nowhere, like brick walls and impossible cliff edges.

But I still have yet to see a answer to the last one for simply it being if all of you are doing the same thing draining one of all they need......

Then why would one hunt someone doing the same thing unless there was a mutual liking or something more affectionate-like.......

I don't think Dion was trying to make a buck. The hippy psychic vampire that is 'hugs all around' just tryin' to get by is not what I consider the majority.

We often take or “share” from each other.
The group must have three energy types one grounded one amplifier one absorber.
This combination works well as on our own we do ok except my kind that keeps taking and not much control so I often use excessive amounts for occult practices.
Didn’t know for years why I used energy from people … know I do.

No I don’t believe dion did it for a buck as I said “classic” dion to “bookshelf pulp” to make a buck.

I am sure that from what you have seen that I do not feed from people thru that means or sanguine means.

But I still having a knowlegde of things because somebody has tried doing things to me and all it took me was a force of will and blocking or making bearers against it.

And so what or why rather would someone learn how to feed then just start feeding off kin of the same doing??

I mean I thought you all had a pact not feed on one another or something like that??

You will find there are many rules depending on group, coven, house or gang.
No one is right no one is wrong, rules are rules for a reason, personally I like to break them just like glass, makes a great sound of chaos.

Not all know what there doing, some do and morals step in the way of needs.

Okay and why did you start feeding or did you just stumble and then take a liking to it and what defenses have you imposed for your own protection while doing such a task??

I guess after my overdoes when I seen a succubus (my avatar) through dreams taught me to take and use for magical workings.
I used to astral take and still do, fights were a great source of energy and lovemaking.
It took me a while to place two n four to get six but now im with people who all have the same experience, same ways, same needs.

I would imagine that anyone that reacted to a vampires presence would first have to have an idea that the person they where around was a vampire, then they would be likely to assess that they needed to defend themselves from being a snack. Whether preemptive or in defense of actual attempts. Wouldn't a vampire expect a certain amount of percecution, I mean it is an intrusive activity the engage in. When a person learns that vampires actually have donors, they may learn to be less weary of them, unless they have family involved with the vampire community.

Oh and I would imagine that if one somehow unintentionally slighted a donor and they snitch the vamp out.. that would cause a spot light, I think it would be wise to have false lairs for that very reason.

Percecution ? is that a new word?
Not sure why having a donor changes anything?
If one drank blood then sure a donor is nice, energy taking is very different, not sure why that makes one less weary of them.
The golden dawn in 1892 meet one of us and was documented under flying roll no V.

Can you expect a certain amount of preservation from those that would be prey?

Yes I would dabbler for the one reason there is a massive amt of energy in a human body that needs to be un-locked thru breaking certain seals.

Like I can run and do sit-ups and push-ups and weight lift all in one day that would drain a person bad from the same energy that is taken while being drained from a psy.

So I have broken my seals or at least 4 to 5 out of the eight.

Okey what about tainting ones out put energy, would that be a shock to a psy vamp?

I haven’t found nothing I don’t like yet some do feel negative energy a turn off.

I dont think a vampire that is psychic is going to need to use self defense as he would know what is coming and could avoid it.

It depends on what level of psy-feeding he/she has achieved I think because some are not as well developed as others.

So it would seem that if their where those that knew of ways to taint energy.. (not psy vamps) that you would not be aware of such things yet.

And so anyways how could energy get tainted besides like something paranormal being in the energy itself or something is wrong with the astral plane.......

Some people do have filters naturally or without knowing, this is why contact would be needed to get in.
Some use the white light… a burst of energy that lights them like a flare in the astral night…….. believed to keep darkness away… but were not of darkness.
There is a couple more but that’s for us to know and them to find out.

Personally if your linked with another's energy source, they are connected with yours and so on....So, what would be the negitives then? How would you controll it, or is it just really not enough for them to even realize.....

Actually, lavisbre, there is a way to protect yourself while you're feeding on psychic energy.

The way to do it is to basically work with either your aura to where it's solid enough to stop any psychic 'trash' from getting through, or create yourself a shield and attune it to the point that you don't have to worry about any psychic attacks or any 'trash' getting through.

Self Defense is always a good thing to learn. Never know if it comes in handy. My mom forces us to learn Martial Arts as kids. My Dad started his own school and created his own style 12 years ago. I don't know anything of his new style as I was barely around for the last 12 yrs. But what I did learn when I was around came in handy. It is a skill I have used as being a bodyguard.

I mean i have woken up with unexplained marks before and bruises and on more then just one occassion too! that is partly the reason why I got into the supernatural world in the first place but what I retained from the above threads was way to far fetched so I'm just gonna leave that one alone!

there could be other resons for that, sleep walking is one

sometimes my dreams are so real and feel so real. i have awaken with bruises i didnt have the night before.

I have never had a psychic attack that I am aware of except once but it was a group attack and it dissipated. I learned things differently through magickal practices and through spirtualism. When I was learning there wasn't so much infused from Wicca into everything so my way of defense is different.

You can be attacked by a mage too. They do this you know. I was invited to an international (it was real) tourney they had to spar more or less with other magickians. I declined because I thought it was a frivolous activity. I don't follow Aleister Crowley much. My association with chaosmagic was through views of Austin Osmund Spare. Crowley was blazing his own trail and he was colorful but his life couldn't be called exactly successful due to his hedonistic nature. He was a genius though in his own right.

I think it is best to look at different modalities of defense and try them and see what works best for you. They are not all the same depending on the source. I am always shielded but I have been doing that more than 30 years so...its a matter of becoming at one with it.

they say its possiable to attack somebody mind. but to attack somebody body in a dreamstate i dont think is very possible

everyone puts off a vibration level. psy vamps put off higher vibrations than the majority. though most dont know they are doing there are quite a few that know what they are doing and willing use it as a weapon.
