This is something I feel I have been sensitive to all my life, but really have only just noticed since I was given a table that I can not bring myself to eat at.

Do you believe that this is possible, and not in the way of a spirit attaching itself to an object, but an actual event being imprinted onto it some how?

This may not always just mean an unfortunate event but maybe one of pleasure as well.

Yep, can be sensing the energy of what happened around that table. Get rid of it if it makes you uneasy. Listen to your intuition. =)

sure a lot of people transfer energy to crystals and other stones so i would say that yes its possible

Sounds like you have a haunted object
Researching I have come a crossed many haunted objects fact is I own some.
A haunted object is belved to be someones prized possession for wich they loved so much in life abouve all things.
It may all so be linked to a tragic event such as a tree of a hanging and wood cut from that tree would carry apart of that persons ghost.
An object of a child a parent lost then when that parent died they hung on to that object.
Another reason is that someone special gave the object to a grandparent or other person wich was so special it reminded them of that person so when they died they hung on.
You might want to find out more about that table you felt uncomfortable at parhaps a history who ownd it were it came from and what tree it comes from if its wood.Some wood made in to furniture is said to carry woodland spirits but thats another subject.

Sometimes even brand new items bought in a shop can have bad feelings, because components may have been handled by unhappy, unfortunate, angry people and these negative energies have become accidentally imprinted.

Also known as "cursed objects", things that bring bad fortune and bad luck, you can learn to spot those easily in second hand shops. Often such objects used to belong to a person who died of cancer or something of the sort, and that's how the cursed object landed up in the second hand shop in the first place. But sometimes, such cursed objects are unknowingly passed down the generations and become family heirlooms, contaminating one generation after the other!

So I do agree, if it's bad feelings that you feel, rid yourself of it......

yes, i believe this can happen.

there are things that i feel i cant do, it's like a magnetic force pushing me away from it, no matter how hard i try, it don't work, i get pushed away.

and i also belibe we are imprinted with stuff we much do. like a magnet, we have a need to bond/ do it. like a mother and child...like magnets.

Yes, I believe that this can happen but not just to the things that are passed on to friends and family. It can happen with a brand new object as well.

I was remodling a mobile home park a few years back and one of the homes felt weird. One night staying late working I could see bits and pieces of what happened in the home. Believe you me that is not something that I want to see again.

Yes, everything that happened in the home. I could see bits and pieces of it. Never really paid attention to the feelings until I seen what it was about. Haven't been back into the place in a while and I do not plan on going back to it either.

I have heard of people seeing events that occured from the past in houses. Since it says that this sort of event happens due to energy being absorbed into the house itself, I would suppose that it is possible that energy can also be absorbed into other objects.

Yea, I agree with Crystal. You can still have odd vibes from new items, simply because of the people that made it. Odd huh?

An event louded with emotion can definately leave an imprint on an object. I have done this a few time where I have been really pissed of touched something and someone comes by touches that particualr object and tehy feel like they hve been bitten. Emotional energy can be attached to anything if the emotions are strong enough

I have heard of such things happening and myself have picked up an object and had 'bad vibes' from it only to find out later it had a bad history. But I'm not sure how the energy attaches itself to an object.

As ReaperHunt suggested it could very well have to do the the emotions being felt at the time of the event or of course as mentiohned before, a residual haunting.

Perhaps objects are imprinted with random events conected to strong emotional happenings.

I've certainly heard alot of stories about such things and have handled things myself which I have picked things up from.

I saw some jewellery today in a charity shop, I was wondering what I would do if I found something I liked but it came with ' bad vibes '.

Would I be willing to buy it and make it my own or would I not bother ?

Has anyone else taken something and made it their own after getting rid of the 'bad vibes' attached ?

yes I do believe that certain things can happen and can or may leave an imprint on an object, whether it be a good energy or bad energy feeling.
Myself if this table makes you feel uneasy then you should remove it from your home, I would. then try to find out maybe some history about it, where it came from etc. just me and my couriosity and questionable state of being .. LOL

I think that strong emotions can imprint themselves upon objects and places. A murder would cause very intense emotions but so would an extremely pleasurable experience.

Events are often said to have become recorded in the physical make up of a building and can be triggered. If they are triggered, the scene may play out in front of viewers just as it did when it originally occurred.

There's a specific type of haunting that deals with retrocognition. Basically, If an event happened, like a war, or battle, or a death, it is not actually a spirit, but an imprint of the emotions that can actually influence the area around it to replay the scene. Have seen something? Or just the feeling? Any odd smells?
Also, think of the position of the table. Is it in an area that feels comfortable? try putting it in different areas and see what happens.
However, I do believe that strong emotions can influence an object. I did an experiment awhile back with a necklace like that. I tried to pour happiness into it. It worked. No matter the mood, the wearer becomes happy. However, it wore off after a few tries.

like going to a crime scene and noticing how cold and deathlike it is

Sure I belive in this. It seams like its easier for bad emotions to stuck in objects rather than good. But then again. I am more sensitive to pick up bad vibes, like some sort of warning not to go into.

It must be possible to "load" an object with good energy but I think this takes time and effort.

many things can be cursed or blessed it just depends ,if you feel that this is a harmful thing then destroy it, do not pass it on to someone else , as it could also affect the next person that owned it . if I receive something that has been used and do not know by whom then I will cleanse it and bless it before it inters my house.

Spirits in objects are common enough also. I have the spirit, for lack of a better term, of a young boy (8 to 10 yo) who came to be in my house through an antique wardrobe that I purchased. He was apparently tied to it but now moves freely about the house.

One such episode on Paranormal State dealt with a couple who supposedly had a piano that had an ill effect on them and brought paranormal activity with it. They got the piano for free. Upon doing research, the investigators checked with the person who had the piano before and they wouldn't talk.

The investigators brought the Warrens in( they deal with all sorts of things paranormal) it was decided by all to destroy the piano which they did and I believe they buried it.

I would just say use your own judgement, if something you have makes you uneasy then get rid of it.

I guess this would be dependent on what you believe but psychics have always believed they could tap into the history of objects. One major way is called Psychometry and by touching the object they can get impressions about the item. You might want to get someone to come who has this ability and see what they feel about the table. Some very tramatic event could have happened where the table was located originally. Appears you are a sensitive.

This brings to mind the old medicine shows, and the way they operated.. How? They would place energy into their trinkets, and snake oil/potions. "Charming" the items to attract a marks curiousity.

That would be transferring significance to insignificant trinkets.
