I like to keep an opnen mind and believe anything but does anybody body else know of these at least?

I have never heard of witches that are exclusive to any particular element. There are witches who use any or all of the elements in their rituals, especially in the casting of the circle. There are those who prefer some elements than others in their personal spell casting. This is based on a witches personal affinity with an element.
However there are multiple kinds of witches out there, I am most familiar with British Traditional Witchcraft.

Any witch that is worth her broomstick will work and know all elements. No such thing as naming yourself after one of them. Good idea to work with one at a time then work with Earth later since it does have all elements within it.

Well, this is a new thing to me , never heard of that either, what would be the purpose of working with just one element ?

In addition to the 4 elements you mentioned, which are recognized by all Wiccans, some regognize Spirit as a 5th. Since each element has its own energy, properties and designated associations, it would make more sense to say that a Witch would make use of one or all of these elements, at any given moment, depending on how the Witch relates to each element and for the purpose its energies are being used.

I do believe that there are Elemental Witches and then Witches that use all the elements.Each witch is good with each element.Once excels in another.

I thought that the four witches go world wide like all witches have an element of the first four and if all four came together it would be the ultimate power usually of good but with good there is always an evil so what I'm thinking is isn't there an evil four? what wuld they be? see my theory is isn't there a bad to every good a mirror effect in a way if your good in this world there is a paralell universe that has an evil you in it isn't that ossible everything your not in this world you are in the other world. interesting thought.

I have never heard of a Elemental Witch. Every witch I know uses all of the elements. Even a candle has a couple elements to it.. a candle before burnt is earth to me solid....then you need air to have to light the candle...fire burns on the wick.

The four elements is ancient, that is what wise men and witches beleived thousands of years ago, and they would have worked with the 4 elements.

We now living in a modern wiccan society. It turns out that the 4 elements represented the 4 different states of matter.

Water - liquid
Earth - solid
Air - gas
Fire - plasma

In our modern wiccan society there have been more and more elements being discovered, so there are over a hundred different elements that exist today. We have hundreds of different herbs to use in modern witchcraft.

i have not heard of such witches but certainly know gods for fire , water, air .

I do beleive in witchcraft and following Wicca, though I can't say I have any power of my own. I think to define a person as singular Air, Fire, Earth, Water, (and sometimes Spirit) witches means that the personality of the person relates more specifically to that type of learning. One's personality might be so different as to be a Fire Witch, while someone else might be an Air Witch, and so on...

I dont think we will be heaing the elements called up in a circle as "liquid" in the west, "solid" in the north, "gas" in the east and "plasma" in the south any time soon. There are some witches that use "flatus" in the south however. :D

I have not heard of a witch being called by one of the elements. I know that the witches use the 4 elements and spirit for rites and such. But nothing else that I have heard of.

I have never heard of a pure elemental witch but I do know that some are able to make a deeper connection to one element over another. Be able to more successfully use fire rather then water air or earth.

Yes I do believe in these witches working and using seperate elements in their work as well as activities. But this might be very rare. coz for this one must be the real master of witchcraft at very higher level and exercising it regulerly for much times.


Any commune or science is not build in the assumtions. there must be truth in that at certan point.

So I can acknowledge for dire for certain element in the certan persons and they love to work with certain element.

I think witches work with all elements, the combination of all 4 elements would enleashe the power of the spirit which is the fifth element.

I have not heard of element witches, but I have heard of colour witches, like white, red witch etc.

Well science do work on assumption before establishing it. we must do this. but in tales there are a lot of element witches which uses one particular elemet eiter for shielding or major exposed arts.

Well is is an old tale my Gma used to tell me so not sure how true it is. LOL She used to tell us that there was 1 Woman(witch) she did not call them witches, yet woman that are with special powers ..

she said that there was 4 sisters who could not always agee / argue and the gods seperated them and sent 1 to each of the 4 elements / corners of the world. They indeed have power for that particular Element yet they are not strong unless they unite and work as one, to make all things possible.

Now whether it is true or if it is a lesson of controling our magic with responsiblity who is to really know. I myself do have many women in my family and we work together for the important stuff LOL yet we each can and do use all 4 elements, it is useless not to know them or to use them (with care) in my opinion, So if it is true there are 4 witches who each control only one of
the elements and not all 4 ..... that would be interesting they would have to depend on another and well a gifted and strong witch does not need help ...They sould know all the elements and use wisely.

I've heard of it, but it really doesn't make sense. You need all of the elements to make something whole.

However, there are witches who are capable of using one element over another much easier and more natural than the other elements. I myself am a Libra (an Air Sign), even my moon rising is an air element, I am most like Air. Often, if I am upset enough the wind will blow...sometimes violently.

This could be where the idea of witches having one specific element came from. Though I am Air and Air is me, I need all the other elements to complete spells and rituals like any other witch.

Wow, I have heard this story also from my family members as well. Yet All witches are capable of controling all four elements when doing there spells or rituals, and I was taught that the older witches whom only control the 1 element can stop the spell from working if they feel it is wrong, I know I have done soem stuff that just did not go through and it was explained to me that the main power source stepped in (hence the 1 main witch of that element), that they are to help maintain balance in the universe as to when people try to use like fire for etc.. and it actually would end up bad. I hope that made sense LOL it is how I was taught.

mom always said we have mother nature, and then the 4 witches whom control all 4 elements along with mother nature , how true this is who is to really say I just believe my women in my family .

From what i heard and read in books. i hear all elements are used .. That is what makes a good wiccan, so i hear..

I've never thought of it that way before. I suppose that witches may choose a certain element to lean towards, but I believe that spells have more to do with colors than elements. White, red, green, purple, and black.

European Witchcraft and Wicca are different so who knows in this case. They don't call the Guardians of the Watch Towers or make sacred circles and things like that. All earth is sacred to them so I would suppose perhaps some in Wicca might specialize in elemental areas but if it was someone's grandmother who mentioned this I highly doubt it is Wicca but the older ways of traditional witchcraft, prior to the 50s even though I know the Neo Pagan version does draw from older sources they still have differences. Interesting what some older family members know and remember we have never heard of.

My element is Earth, but never heard of any witch being exclusive to just one element. We learn to work with all elements in harmony.

Yes without working on all elements how they can choose one... they are real masters in their field so why they choose only one element after working on all elements and they can use all elements.


You must know that after a certain level of growth, elements start helping the entity and become nice tool of them.

I have heard of this. I don't know if I believe it or not. But what i would like to know is what makes them an earth witch, air witch, fire witch, or a water witch. Does anyone know?

im an earth with and my best friend and her daughter are both fire

this is not the case as to earth air fire and water , the thing is depending on what element you are then those spells with work best for you I,m a water sign so water spells work better for me but I can do others it just means that you work with the elements a little more then most wiccans.

myself I work best with Fire and the earth as a combination whenever I do my spells or rituals . they work best for me yet, I do use all the elements .

I have a stronger affinity to water as I am an Aquarian but use fire, water, and earth. Magic25UK, spirit is not unleashed through use of the other four elements except in the "left handed" path. Spirit (Will) is used to control the other four elements in the "right handed" path.

A good witch works with all elements

i work with all four elements is my spells and rituals . but i can more easily control fire and air. my daughter is water and fire meaning she has better control over water and fire. but as i have said we use all the elements.. i just need to wrok harder at the others.

Well, I've never heard of witches specific to elements. All the witches I know are well rounded in their knowledge of all the elements...I think all practitioners of magic really need to be.

i am a witch and have worked with all kinds but i have to say i am better at fire than the other ones i dont know why but i like useing that one more than the others. though i have used them all. i feel more at home with fire

I'm a wiccan practicer and a believer of Spirt. I have worked with all the elements but I'm connected more with air.
I don't have the temper for fire or the strainght to control it
I'm not consent like water or as cool minded
I'm not rooted like earth, or as wise.

I'm forever moving, and quick to react. I don't sit still and I look to the wind to guide me.

One time I had lost a ring that wasn't mind. It had fell in the snow. I asked Sprit to guide me to it. I was told to listion. I closed my eyes and the wind guided me to it.

i know as a witch i use all the elements but iam strongest in the rain , in the tub or pool as iam a water sign i think it gives me more umph to my magick when working with or around water

Well my dire for space energy, I do take it living those time in space, love to my subtle rest on sun's surface or to the core of the earth, grounding i love with earth, water helps me to sink my conscious very fast to subtleness. the substitute energy the Aura when i am not meditating or astral, in public, I do gainaura from air.

Iam confused and love to balance of elements I love all five element though my source of psychic energy is space where I gain cosmic energy spatially. I did get merge into space so many time that i can not remember the count in approximate.

Yet my base area of thoughts is cosmos and space.
