I'm looking for the opinion of the VR community on reincarnation. Do you believe, yes, no and why.
reincarnation hmmmm... ok you asked....
i think reincarnation is pergatory for those who have not found the light and are getting a chance to find it, givin that thier past life was tainted with darkness for example abusive parents. if some one grows up with hatred because of this its not thier fault. i am a little jumbled on wat else to put i have to clear my mind, so ill wait for some more responses ill leave it at that for now ^_^
hehe if what manny said is true then I'll have to re-incarnate.Well as I always say in past lives' thread yes I believe in re-incarnation.But I don't think there's always a reason.
perhaps reincarnation puts you in everysingle possition in life putting you in rich families, poor, sick, famous, etc. possitions perhaps this is done to test our selfs in all areas... but if so.... then why? do we carry those traits that we have learned from past lives?..... do we act today as we would have in a previous life? all intresting... very intresting... *thinks*
Hmmm, Reincarnation...I do not believe in the specific term Reincarnation. I do believe we return to mother earth and what she does with us is all good.
I have a hard time wrapping my head around structured belief systems, guess its not for everyone, but that is just me :-)

Yes I do believe. I am willing to say that the soul cannot learn, teach and evolve enough in one mortal lifetime to reach the level it will accquire at the end of its journey. I further believe our souls are on these journeys. One lifetime is infinitesimal compared to infinity. The soul has purpose and direction with an end goal in sight.
yes i believe, i have even met a few here from a couple of past lives
I believe you can reincarnate, or roam. . . .
mabye not people comming back as ducks and stuff though.
Im in total agreement with stargella...in fact thats the answer that i was going to put lol. perhaps in my own terms, but still basically the same one lol
i believe, here my stone my lay but yet i roam untill another life... its a good qoute and seem to find truth in it
I dont really know whether I can define a 'soul' and if I could, whether it would be a recyclable one.
It all depends on how iut really works. Whether we are souls that are reincarnated for a particular purpose, for instance enlightenment, or whether we are just creatures wih a purpose of continuing the human race but our imaginations and a fear of dying have got the better of us.
I personally would like to believe the idea of posessing a soul, but do not believe that its one which is reincarnated. Eveytime I htink about it, the answer changes a bit though :-)
I believe that we come back, to learn what we have missed in this life, to change our fate, to be with someone that fate has cruelly torn from us.....for alot of reasons.
The soul (or whatever term you use) does not die, at least thats what I would like to believe.
Yes I do believe. i think your soul and spirit will be somewere there, forever.
You are the one to make all your dreams and wishes to come true, and then,in your next life you could see all you did (you wil just feel it),but sometimes you will ned to work for karma mistakes (or things) you did wrong.
I do believe in reincarnation. I think that we are all searching for the same thing ultimately (and no I do not mean a drink and a place to crash afterward.) I don't think there can be any time limitations placed on the number of times you are reborn. I think you just have to keep trying until you reach the ultimate goal.
Yes i do believe it's possible to recycle your soul and i believe there's a lot of explanations as to why people have 'memories'. The soul has a lot to do with 'recording' moments you have lived or not neccessarily lived, but seen. Perhaps leaving one confused to whether or not it was their life or not. So yes i do believe that we never truly die.
This struck me as fitting in this thread...
Deep in the soul, below all the distraction of life, is a silence vast and grand- an infinite ocean of calm, which nothing can disturb; Nature's own exceeding peace, which 'passes understanding'. That which we seek with passionate longing, here and there, upward and outward, we find at last within ourselves.

I do beleive in reincarnation....of the soul but not necessarily the consciousness...
life is a cycle after all....everything natural moves in a cyclical progression.....why wouldn't we?
after death you have your same soul but the real question is "where?" or inside "what?"
once I read a book it said that we choose if we want to re-incarnate,and what lessons we want to learn but then it depends on us how we re-act.well...donno if this true I don't agree very much,in any case I think I've learned enough lessons and if I'll have to choose I would choose a life better than this hehe
No, I don't
I belive there's this one life, and I'm trying to use it well..
i'm with echo that the concept may have been invented through fear of death.
a bit of comfort
i personally don't believe in re-incarnation. as far as i'm concerned there is no evidence. but show me the evidence and i'll believe.
it'd be nice to re-incarnate in any form. but it would depend on the circumstances. imagine you re-incarnate and remember your entire past life. you basically... are yourself again. just that you are restricted with your childlike brain, you go through everything again.
personally i'd probably want to just die. living once would make me happy. and all the bad things that happened in the next life would make me want to go back to that old life.
however... most re-incarnation theories are linked to the memory-loss occurance. you come back... but you don't know it.
therefore either someone remembered they were re-incarnated... or it was made up.
there are a lot of things we don't know about the human body...
personally i don't think anyone is in a position to say a clear "Yes" or "No"
Naaa I just think we go to where our souls are already at. We become forms of our innermost loves. If our loves are evil and negative...then that's what we become....if positive...then that.
