What are some of the things that can trigger awakening? Puberty of course. What else? A blood exchange (here I go again)? Realization of who and what you are? Is awakening a lie? A self-delusion?
Sorry what sort of awakening exactly are you talking about?
Hi Morrigon,
I'm speaking of awakening as a vampire, any kind, sanguine (I hate that word), psychic vampire, psi vampire, elemental vampire, sexual vampire, tantric vampire, etc.
not sure, that part is still something we wonder about ourselves. I personally believe its just that time, like, when you die, or when you hit puberty. As for the type of feeder you are, your body experiments and finds what suits it best.
How true....I recently talked with a guy who's 45 and believes he may be a blood-vamp - he's just finding out now?! Or he's just using that to try and get laid *snicker, snicker*
i agree, it depends on the person. at some stage summit triggers it and for everyone it will be summit different
actually I know people who have awakened around the late 20's early thirties, it all depends on the person
Well, I'm in my forties and have just awakened as a psychic vampire. I've been somewhat psychic all my life. About a year ago, I started having dreams and they led me to the vampire websites, etc. It could be that I'm sanguine as well. I seem to have a problem with too much energy or not enough. When I was in my teens and once in my early twenties, I went to the doctor with fatigue. I didn't have mono or any other identifiable illness. He said I had a convalsecent virus (both times) - a virus that can't be identified but certain factors must reactivate it, aka, he didn't know. However, a second doctor said the same thing.... It could be that blood would be the fix I need. But I'm fighting that right now.
blood isn't a bad thing, but when the body needs a physical means of gaining energy, its the best means to do so, so is sex. Yet, from both you have to pick the right person and make sure your protected.
It has been my personal experience, along with research and interviews, that vampiric awakenings may be triggered during periods of much pain, grief or loneliness. I believe that these periods promote a darkened mindset that allows an awakening to occur. Puberty is a dark period for everyone....erratic emotion, a changing body, trying to establish your own values and ethics....a very confusing time. Pain, grief and loneliness all create many of the similar factors that allow for a progression of a vampiric awakening.
i would have to say it depends on the person and what they are going through. from what i've noticed anyone i know had their awakening during a rough period in their life they we're frightened in the begining but have grown to love it.
the people that change their lifestyle, or emerge as something else, usually start with pain...
most like changing events involve pain of some sort...
now the question is, does the pain bring change, or change bring pain...
Maybe there is a post or something around here... But what are the different types of vampires... And what do they feed on?
If there is something I would be glad if you would direct it to me.
maybe if something u feel isnt right or if something goes bump in the day....that would scare the shit out of me.....maybe something like hunger too!
I agree with domangelus completely.
It is when we reach a darker period in our lives that we "awaken" as something different whether it be a sanguine, psychic, blood etc. vampyre.
Sometimes awakening occurs when you have had severe psychological trauma
Morrigon is right, it depends.
The way I see it, an awakening i nothing roe than realising your portential, and thats a very hard thing to come to terms with. Im still coming to terms with it, so everyday is realising what I can do with energy, and what Ic an do with my life.
Its a journey more than a snap occurence.
It's different for everyone.
Even if you're not a vamp, you still in your life, wonder who you are, what you are etc...
That's why there are life stages but everyone grows in a different way.
An awakening is when I get up in the morning and act awake…But enough about me. An awakening of ones self can be a shocking event in ones life. You realize at the right moment and at the right place in time you are something else then you thought. What may trigger this could be anything fromm the taste of blood to a smell or sound. Most of the time you gut instinct is the correct one at that moment.
I am not saying all will feel this way since I know I will get the comments “That never happened to me.” Or “I always knew from birth.”, etc.
Exactly, but even if they were like that from birth, they still in some life stage they'll realise it,and than when it happens the awaking.
the things that can trigger an awakenig are very simple. a fight, haveing sex, dieing and, comeing back to life. There are a few other things that can cause someone to awake. being in near danger and your senses awaken that's another one
still thier r diff types of awakening it depends on age was well as what u r, the blood line i mean
I know a way to trigger an awakening, and it`s fairly artificial.Fill a bathtub with blood, no guts or kidneys,
and start by having a bath in it.Then dunk your head under, you can do this a couple of times if you like. Every time you emerge from out of the tub,it should be impossible for you not to say,"It`s me. It`s me.",. And you will be having a "true"
awakening.
There is more to the world than just ordinary, physical reality. There is not just body. There is also spirit. All of the material things around us have a vital, spiritual component that our current culture encourages us to be blind to.
However, for some of us, it is impossible to remain blind. Those who we term "Awakened" have their eyes open and are able to see all of those things that make the universe a richer and more profound experience than one of just the material senses.
Awakening comes at various points in people's lives. Some of us are born Awakened, and we have known nothing else. Others come to their Awakening later in life. Most often, we are born with the capacity to Awaken, and latent talents and abilities manifest in early childhood. But as our parents, teachers, and all other authority figures in our lives repeatedly reinforce the notion that our subtle senses are just our imagination, that spirits aren't real and that magick doesn't exist, we start to block off this aspect of our experience.
These self-imposed mental blocks often do not start to come loose until the onset of puberty or later adolescence. Sometimes latent abilities manifest with renewed strength as puberty comes upon us, and then our sensations and perceptions become something which we cannot deny. More often, as we go through that period of individuation in adolescence wherein we question the rules and boundaries set by society and by our parents, we start to also question those boundaries that tell us what we can and cannot believe.
It is very common in this stage of Awakening to re-evaluate the experiences and beliefs of childhood in an attempt to discern what was real and what was truly imagination. At this stage it is also common to experiment with different belief systems in an attempt to understand what is really going on with a reality that does not seem to conform to the accepted rules. A person at this stage has a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of experiences that seem to defy the very rules of possibility.
It is not uncommon to have spontaneous numinous experiences at this stage as well -- episodes of precognition, strong moments of empathy or telepathy, visual perception of auras or spirits, and other feelings which cannot be explained.
The challenge with Awakening is breaking through those barriers imposed by your parents, your society, and your birth religion. This is not an easy thing to do. It takes a strong personality and a profound belief in yourself to be able to reject the accepted paradigm and seek to define one of your own. This is one of the reasons so many Awakened people are such egoists -- it takes a strong ego to survive the process of Awakening without buckling under the pressure to just disbelieve.
Belief is the crux of Awakening. There is usually a critical point at which a person who is Awakening makes a decision to believe or not to believe. If they choose to accept that there is more to reality than they have been told, then the process continues and, with work, they will eventually come to understand and even master the latent abilities that they have. If they choose not to believe, those latent abilities do not just go away. Instead, the Awakened person enters a period of deep repression that can continue their whole lives. Either way, the road before the person is not an easy one. On one hand, they must work their whole lives to believe in something most other people regard as fantasy. On the other, they must work their whole lives to forcibly keep their spiritual eyes shut when seeing and experiencing things on that level are as natural to them as breathing.
We've been there. We've seen people go either way. And we know how hard it is to keep going, even once you've made the decision to believe. That's why this page has articles on Awakening -- what it's like from people who have been there, tips for getting through it, and encouraging words that will hopefully make you realize that you're as not crazy as you think you are.
The world is changing as are the people in it. There are more and more Awakened in every generation now. Together we are pushing the boundaries, so it becomes easier each time someone new gives them a push. This is the time and the place for it, and if you have the courage and the perseverance, there is something wonderful to be achieved.
May the Darkness serve you well,
Lord Seth
Thank you, Lord Seth, for your thoughtful post. I seek knowledge and truly appreciate your input.
I think awakenings are similar to soul-searching. At a point in our lives, most likely when we face our own selves and try to figure out the questions that pop in our heads, our inner being awakens and that is when we become enlightened to what we truly are.
I also agree that most awakenings happen during or after severe emotional stress like during loss of someone very dear to you, feelings of intense loneliness and isolation; even during those times when we almost reach the brink of death. It is when we begin to feel more intensely about things around us; energy and entity alike.
to me its the smell of the vitum and the chance to feed off the inacent
Depends on the person. For me, it really started when I was 15, then I repressed it for a year, and now I accept it now. I still have a long way to go in regards to understanding it.
