evening everyone! i hope everyone is doing well tonite..so guys i`d like to see ur opinions..on which you think was or is the best book ever written about vampires? recently i`ve read quite a good one..called the vampire memoirs..has anyone read it? ..i`d like to see your opinions:P it`ll help me to get to know you well!!
I did of course :) I got that from a 2nd hand shop by coincedence and found it really enjoyable.. its fiction..a biography of a vampire with a touch of good sarcasm & irony.. I suggest you read it & take in mind it's fictional
to be honest, i am ashamed to admit that i havent really read any vampire books b4. but i have been lookin for some good ones to read
i have found a book called "Blood House". it has weres and vampires. its a great book that has 3 little stories in it and all 3 stories unfold into 1 huge story. its a crazy but great book. i loved it
but i havent read those books yet. when i get back, i shall look into them
mm..blood house..sounds interesting..right now..im reading anne rice`s vittorio..but i dont know u guys..but sometimes..even though she`s a good writer i tend to fine her a bit boring..so i have to stop in half ways her books and start reading something else..
Well one can't deny she a very good author but she is dragging at times, & some books make so much reference to the previous ones they spoil the fun reading them when in fact not all of them are like that. One can independently read Blood & gold & Pandora for example but Armand is an impossible read without Memnoch the devil (Sorry if I mentioned unintentional spoilers, I shouldnt have but :))
my favrite is Interview with the vampire, but iv gottin thru the first two books od the vampire hunter D series an i love it so far
Ive read quite a few, but I've been consideirng reading some non-fiction nstead. Fiction can bore me a bit.
I enjoyed "The Silver Kiss" by Annette Curtis Klause. She also has one about werewolves out, that is my favorite book, "Blood and Chocolate". Both are directed toward younger audiences, due to the age of the characters and the comprehension level at which she writes in those books, but they are pretty good none-the-less. As for the Author of that "Vampires" book- it's John Steakley I believe.
The Anita Blake-Vampire Hunter books are a very good read.
I Vampire was writen by Michael Romkey, he also wrote 2 more in the series. They are kinda hard to find, try a Half-Price book store, or on line some where.
I've read Brian Lumley's "Necroscope series". A series of approx. 15 books, fiction of course but with an interesting theory about Vampires or Wamphyri as he says!
I love the Darren Shan Saga books....even thou they are for the younger reader. I have also got thte Mamoth Book of Vampires edited by Stephen Jones ISBN: 1841199265 which is a collection of short stories of the undead.
Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake book are realy good as well
hey all thanks for collaborating i came back after yesterday and saw such replies!! thanks alot:P well its my first thread in here:P:P hehe..neways hey i `m keeping in mind the books ure tellin me..so when i have some time..i`ll just read them..well till now i still agree that the vampire memoirs is a good one:P
I just been given all the Anita Blake books.... will start on Saturday
I'm sorry, I'll have to crash this party..there are (about) 115 vampire books listed in the books section of the database
Go CHECK!
Thank you Lordvampirio..it's always nice to save the day! Hehe!
The Vampire Lestat has always and will always be my Favorite.....Very descriptive and if you are into reading it really puts you in the shoes of lestat time and time again.
Try "Blood Will Tell" by Jean Lorrah It won a Lord Ruthven
I love everything in Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Dark Hunter" series. It has vamps, weres, hunters, and mythological gods/goddesses. Also, lots of nice sex scenes;)
"I, Strahd" is also a stand alone fave of mine. The entire Ravenloft series rocks, but this is the first and the ultimate of them all!
Katherine Ramsland's
"Piercing the Darkness, Vampires in america today"
for nonfiction
Poppy Z. Brite's
"Lost Souls"
for fiction
queen of the damned....not the fucking movie based one marius making lestat who else did that piss off
thanks for the info on these books..guess who is online buying books right now!
well i must say that queen of the damned was a good movie even th0ug differrent from the book itself i enjoyed the music and the scenes though..espeecially the bath scene:P with akaksha and lestat it makes me go uuuh ooh...* i watched a changeeeee in youuuu** thumps up for change-- deftones!!:P:P
I enjoyed Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series. I have just finished the last one and they get better with each book if they are a little over the top. They are a joy to read and really suggest reading them in order. It is less confusing that way.
Im still the biggest Anne Rice Fan ever ,, Still reading all of here books She has sooo many .
ANNE RICE...any vampire novel written by Anne Rice. I LOVE Vittorio. But I also love Bram Stoker's Dracula. I read quite a view vampire books and legengs, short stories. But it has to be Anne Rice.
sadly, i don't think i've read any books on vampires...got too much stuff to do...but i'm'a try...sometime...
Actually I'd like to add to my previous Post....i am partial to all of Anne Rice's Work. Shes a Glorious Writer.
Silver Kiss was excellent, but The Vampire Lestat has to be my favorite.
Queen of the damned and Vittorio are my faves by anne rice. I loved those books. Umm I also love darren shan, he is a really good author. I want to be a young adult author or whatever. So i read a lot of young adult books, but my fave young adult author so far is Amelia atwater-rhodes. She writes incredible vampire stories. You should check her out.
Last year my friend gave me Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton. I've read the first few pages in it, and a bit of the sex scenes that he just HAD to share with me, from some of Hamilton's other Anita Blake books. She seems like a really good author. These suggestions are pushing me to read it.
I've read a lot fiction books, now am looking forward to read:The Occult truth about Vampires,I think that would be my fav.
I haven't read yours yet, but so far my favorite is Piercing the darkness by katherine ramslad. second to that would be Erotica vampirica by cecilia tan.
well as i said before..i think anne rice..has the best chronicles..regarding those of vamps..but sometimes she tends to be a bit boring cause they have the same kind of stories..however i think..that lestat..is the strongest vampire..while armand is the most sensual:P
The Occult Truth about Vampires was a great read, really loved that book, then theres Blood and Gold of Anne Rice which I really liked, though obviuosly enough thats on a fictional level
