Ok, browsing amazon at the moment to try and find something new that is just unlike anything else availible, but all i'm really getting is crappy books with cliche plots.
I HATE it, when characters refuse to accept they have a pair of fangs and the need to drink blood and there on a self-righteous mission to defend someone weaker then themselves and then end up in the sack with them!
Gawsh, what happend??
Movies are the same, Vampire's never win yada yada yada.
My question, what do you REALLY hate about vampire books and movies?
What would be a refreshing take on it in your eyes?
How about a movie or book about a truly evil vampire who wins in the end. An extremely sexy vampire who is just so freak'n evil that you don't even care how good they look.
Win, in some books the vampire really never is to vanish but comes back time and time again..
Twilight and other movies showing aspects of vampires as the heroes and friends to humans. Like any other story line it is left up to the writer and when his mind becomes empty of ploys than like all things the character dies.
A vampire that is totally alluring, sexy, etc, and completely amoral...he/she couldn't give a fig as to what is 'right' or 'wrong'...they just live as they see fit.
What about a schizo vampire? One of the personalities believes they are mortal (and work as an EMT) and the other is a cliche bloodsucker.
Who do you think won in 30 days of night, surely not the humans... They got raped lol
CD, Jason Mewes aka Jay from the Jay and Silent Bob films made a vampire movie where he is an EMT and falls for a female vampire,Bitten (2008).
To most die hard Vampire fans if a movie or book strays from the generic vampire storyline and history they revolt and complain. Most movies and books written now a days tank because they have to have too much blood and sex to sell the story.
True - people tend to revolt against change. Funny thing is, I'd probably be one of them!
Still, I like where CD is going...nothing is more fun than a totally psycho vampire...think, psycho like the Joker. He/She will have you laughing and cringing at the same time.
Just saw that Bitten movie two weeks ago. Was different and entertaining. I'd classify it as dark-comedy/horror. Had a B-movie-ish feeling, but was worth the watch.
As far as Vampires winning in the end...yeah - evil or not (evil preferred), I'd like to see more of that.
Just read a brief synopsis, sounds interesting. Thanks for the recommendation.
Innocent Blood is more of a mob movie with an underlying Vampire storyline,I do like it though.
Vampire with a gun!
How about this cliche?
In many movies the vampire is not a dark and misterious character. Is just an action hero who has long fangs. The same hunting on the highway ended with blowing up cars, the same main character who defeats an army of enemies by himself.
They shoot more then suck.
But they surely suck!
Wow i just saw 'bitten' than movie suckss i only laughed in few parts =S
well i wonder how many people have heard of the steven king novel called the Night Flyer. its a some what vampire movie where the vampire is never seen so to say the only thing that is seen of him is the carnage he leaves in his wake. and the other main character of the movie is a reporter trying to find out as to who this person is. long story short the bad guy wins and the good guy dies a horrid and some what pain full death. so either way you look at it. most people will revolt with the whole evil winning over good as it goes against what most people think. but that is just me.
Night Flyer is one of Kings weakest stories. The movie was even worse, another too much blood and gore and not enough story.
i agree with you on that one. that story was all blood and gore with out the story line. hell to me if i wanted blood and gore i would have just played some xbox or what have you.
Unless the story is family based...todays vampire stories have too much sex and violence to get people to watch them.I love the female form as much as the next guy but come on,actually have a storyline behind the skin and have a true reason for the nudity.
vampire's kiss is a HILARIOUS movie with a younger nick cage - he plays a nyc yuppie womanizer pig who slowly dives into insanity as he IMAGINES himself becomg a vampire. top notch dark humor....
Yeah after he gets bitten by a bat.....it is in my dvd collection
