The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

There are alot of people on this site who tend to follow the werewolf lifestyle. So today i got thinking should there be a Werewolf Rave. And has Cancer consider this for the Dark Network. It would probably be the next logical step in the next site developed.

As for the society i think the sire should only be able to choose between a Coven or A Den. Force induction should also remain as we are all fighting for number 1. And basically when you get bitten by one you turn to them. But it just an idea. I don't really want to go into too much detail on it so i'll leave you with these Questions:

Do you think we should have a Werewolf Rave?
And if so what do you think it should contain?

I think that there should be a "werewolf rave". There are 2 teams in Twilight; Team Edward (vampire) and Team Jacob (werewolf). I think that Vampire Rave is a site for the people of Team Edward. It would only be fair to have a site for the people of Team Jacob.

Cancer has a reason there is a Vampire Rave...he is into the Vampire lifestyle...I assume and is trying to catalog everything Vampire.

Twilight is made up and there is no Edward or Jacob...so there is no need for a Werewolf Rave.

I don't like the name, but I feel an offshoot devoted to fans of therianthropy would be a great idea. Especially if it were similar in nature to VR, in that it embraced fiction, myth, and what people consider "kin". It would be nice to see a database, forum, and covens like we have here. If you're looking for specifics, I don't have any. Sorry!!!

While I believe that a large portion of the membership is driven here because of a love of all things vampire fiction related, this site is about more than Twilight. We aren't about Team Jacob or Team Edward here.

I'm super grateful that Cancer created this site, and yes; Twilight is fiction. But I disagree that there is no need for a "werewolf Rave"...Cancer has created several offshoots to the VR, so why not a WR, too?

'Werewolf rave'? hehe! I think is ok with VR, you can discuss about werewolves and things of that sort in here, but i guess if the question is to expand the database to add other mythological creatures information about, movies, books, articles, and sories then the 'Vampire Rave' designer will have to adjust the website for that fines; if its in his plans, yet going/logging into two different website one for werewolves and one for vampires seeking for the same things seems quite 'dumb/unnecesary' when you can do half of both ofthe things in one/this one.

It's an interesting idea, but would be a very large hassle for people who wished to be a part of both unless Cancer set them up so that we could just log in using our VR logins and browse and rate there even if we didn't want to have an entire new profile etc on a different site just to be a part of it, much like the new Alliance systems and being able to post in thier forums etc.

It's a nice idea but it is sort of well...I don't hear my friends that identify with the wolf use werewolf. Many like Lupa who is in the community and is a writer says she is not a werewolf but a wolf in human body...there is a difference and they will say Therian or Therianthrope and that also would give you a wider scope to allow for those that identify with cats, bears, dragons and the like as well. Even though some use were such as were cat and such for some reason there are those that prefer to not use that with the wolf because of certain connotations and misunderstandings of what they mean as opposed to the fictional werewolf of movies like the Howling.

It would cut down on participation within the Vampire Rave site and others would want their own specific site, i.e., Wicthes, Warlocks, Ghosts, Zombies, ect. Where would the division end ?

I think like doru it would take alot off the vampire Rave site, alot of people would merge to that site. This site covers more than the vampire move here. basically alot of the old lores and hollywood Monsters.

The individual groups, most of them, have chosen themes, so I don't see why that couldn't be done in one of the alliances if a group of people so choose that and have the ability to create one. Part of what makes VR what it is, is the Covens and Houses...it is uniquely VR. When you become a Sire you don't have to be affiliated.

It is only other things because people have made it that way and because of the Scifi section which kinda widened things. It's growing and changing and that is what happens with groups over time...Just go with the flow.

Who knows what Cancer would or wouldn't consider... no one but him. But I think it is obvious that the vampire theme is what hits home for him most of all.

Before Twilight, there were other vampire/wolf duels- the Underworld movies which coined the term 'Lycans' then brought to Vampire Rave people who called themselves 'Lycans' as if this word had been in use for all times. It hadn't, but there had been people who identified as lycanthropes. And with that, they do have a haven here as they are connected to vampires in many ways through legend.

You know, I had another thought about this. As I said earlier, I really think this would be a good idea, but I don't know that Cancer has either the time or inclination to take on a project like this.

Perhaps an alternate solution would be for someone to create a group within the SciFi section for the therians? It would be great to see a separate section attached to the Dark Network, but until that is actually feasible, I don't see why this wouldn't work.

Any thoughts?

Not to sound bias, but this idea to me sounds as though it is just another idea for those who call themselves "lifestylers" to gain access to yet another way to convince themselves that they are "losing themselves" in something that they are not.

I think a site dedicated to the study of "therian" or thropic urges would be a waste of time. For one, there really is no history when it comes to the were"whatever". This should not be a contest about what version of what creature is more popular then the other, or how long a fad will last when it is initiated by popular demand for whichever "subculture" deems it nessessary to brag about what they are not.

Too many kids already want to be this or that...Too much fantasy is already out there, why create more fuel for the fire?

At one time I visited something of a "werewolfrave.com" and it was nothing but a role-play/ writing site. Short stories and the like. Forums yes but no comparision with VR. Don't know what happened to it.

Nobody is saying that members can not form a Coven for just the were-kind. Or any other group of like-kind. In House Lunazure, I give my full permission to start such groups within the household.

And lets not forget the groups that you can form in the SciFi section.

Perhaps the better way would be to allow those that prefer sub groups to actively apply to a coven or house that best suits them with members of their own liking. Instead of induction?

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not.. my apologies if it has, but hopefully within the next couple years we should be getting a supernatural city, then there can be be all kinds of were creatures.... :)

That is VERY true... and with that extension of The Dark Network, all the rest of this stuff can find a home there. It'll get to be too much for each one to have it's own site. Vampires should, though, because there's a serious amount to catalog.

I think a werewolf rave would be a good idea. I think it would get some good use. Though, this site is for all genres of interest, y not have a werewolf rave. I do however think that the dark network shouldn't be over run with individual websites for each interest. Having fewer sites in the dark network keeps us all closer together.
I also like the idea of the biting scenario. Whomever you get bitten by is where you stay, indefinitely.

oh another idea instead of starting off as a whelp you could start off as human than later on you chose your path

My main issue with a werewolf rave would be the simplistic act of the drama the 2 sites would most likely cook up together.

Granted there is another life style in werewolf and as stated above cancer follows more the vampiric. life style
However at the same instance it wouldnt be hard to create a coven based off the idea's and mythologies revolving around werewolf,Which those on here would be more inclined to join then starting in a totally different website.

Well I would think that maybe with the talk of Supernatural City, that might be another place for the wolves of Vr to wander into and explore.

I disagree, there is a very long history in regard to the werewolf. It is a translated name that ended up stated this way. Many legends and some words used for vampires in cultures originally meant the werewolf. That fact doesn't pertain or seem too relevant to the topic at hand.

I think create a side group in scifi for that because even though most call those stories horror it is closely related to scifi and I see no problem for some to create a group there. As for a large group, I don't know whether he would want to take that on. Otherkin, namely the Therian part are no more lifestylers, than those who claim to be vampires in any part of the US or world. No one has the corner or the full knowledge on all of it. Meepers Alliance is based on the Wolf. If you were going to create a Rave I would say you should use Packs and Dens and cover Therianthropes rather than single out one. Just my opinion. All you can do is suggest and you are only open to creating things within what he has now made for the members.

I think a werewolf inspired Rave would be fun and interesting as long as it is part of the dark network there are many possibiliites that could be explored here. But does poor Cancer have the time for the extension lol.

There is a possibility that one could be made but to the person who first mentions twilight not everything has to be about twilight!

why segregate the werewolves from the vampires?

I am not too fanatic of the werewolf rave. The legend of Vampire is becoming alive. From movies to book. Werewolf are not popular as Vampires and to create a website can be a misadventure.

Why don't you just send a message Cancer and ask him or post a message in the vampire rave update thread.

But then again there are others on this website that are not just vampire and werewolf lovers. There is a blend of many people here no matter what it's called. I'm sure if there were a Werewolf Rave it would probably be just about the same as this one full of various entries.

Even though I lean to Lycans more than Vampires I came here to this site...I was more drawn to the romanticism of Vampires than just the rawness of Lycans... I really see no need to have 2 houses one Vampire and one Lycan...

Unfortunately I think that two houses (two sites) would just turn into an "Underworld" type place.

I prefer the Loup-Garou to Vampires.

I honestly don't feel there is a need for a seperate site. If those who admire the Lycan way or connect with it should maybe hit sire level and create their own coven that caters to those who are interested in it.

I do feel that if a Lycan site is brought into the mix then as was mentioned earlier then there of course would be others..withches, warlocks, etc..etc...

There are also now the Mentorships to teach others who are interested.

You make a very good and valid point Sapphire. A mentorship that caters to those who are pulled to the Lycan side is a good idea.

Also... I suppose if you wanted to get specific and this could be kind of lame ... you could always do one specific to a period of time like Lycans in this era or something. =)

I like the idea. I also believe the Lycans should stay on VR. The both exist together anyway, so why not mix it up a little! I am surprised there are not more hybrids lurking about. ;)

I dont think the idea is to segregate or pit vampires against werewolves - i think it was that there are those of us of the wolf persuasion in vampire rave and why not make a sister site - and instead of covens like the vampires have the werewolves have dens - anyone who knows me knows the coven of Immortals are about werewolves and its called our den -

I think a few people missed the point of the thread. We actually don't even have to have a separate site - we can have the werewolves here with the vampires like we always have and like Bleeding said choose between a coven or dens - way cool idea by the way BM!

You could also come up with the site yourself. Why wait on someone else to do it for you??? Cancer has his hands full.

Its a really interesting idea and yeah, i a sure there may already be something similar out there on the net. but its a possibility that something like a werewolf rave could be made, who knows, this would probably make a really good poll. There are so many possibility of what little differences there could be.

Werewolf Rave would be a good idea in my opinion due to the factor some people here probably still fill out a place. Who wouldn't like another place common to VR.
