Houska Castle
If a gateway to Hell existed, where would it be located? What or who would guard it? Legend states Houska Castle in the Czech Republic was that place. Built by Ottokar II of Bohemia during his reign (1253-1278), it sits surrounded by sandstone mountains where there was no source of water, protection or land view and away from trade paths.
It’s defense mechanism was turned to the inside. No stairs led to the first floor. Many windows seen from the outside have no rooms behind them. It remained in the hands of the aristocracy until 1924. It was turned from a Gothic castle into a Renaissance chateau in the 16th Century. During WWII, Nazis took over the castle and made it their headquarters until the end of the war.
The chapel was built over a hole or bottomless well. This well was believed to be the gateway to Hell. Locals wanted to fill it with stones to keep the evil spirits at bay but was unsuccessful. They were forced to cover it with stone plates and build the chapel. Its walls remain moist even during droughts. The walls are covered with ancient drawings of dragons being slain and a left-handed archer (the only known picture). It is even believed non-human remains are buried in the Houska Castle cellar killed by its defenders.

What are your thoughts, could this be a gate way to hell? There is much about this castle online, and many articles about the throne in the basement of the castle that has horns and spikes sticking out called, satans chair.
Sorry for the double copy.
Bones edit: Double copy fixed. ;)
If the well is bottomless, how would they hope to fill it with anything?
I like a road side attraction as much as the next person. The degree that one invest in such attractions will very as such.
Now this one makes me laugh.
A bottomless well eh? Well ( no pun intended...), if the well was indeed bottomless, then it would take the individual to the center of the earth would it not? Not that the individual would be alive after falling for more then 500 feet or so because of the lack of oxygen from the fall.
To say that the well is a gateway to hell is absurd to say the least. Though there is a certain location that is supposed to be a true gateway to hell:
Stull cemetary
If one did existe you would have to be dead to see it or on your way out .
I dont know i dont think one does because if it did lots more would be comeing out then going in.
I wou;ld want to go nto it.
I would love to be in hell.
I tihnk that owuld be cool to fall in a well to hell
If a gateway to hell existed then most modern religions would not exist themselves. In most religions there is not one without the other. Varying paths of religions believe that there is in fact some kind of gateway to the otherside, or Hell as some would refer to it. There are gods, demigods, watchers and gatekeepers also in the myriad of paths and spiritual beliefs that are now present in this modern world.
If such a well existed, not only would the public not know about it, it would be completely erased from any history book, website, ANYTHING, as well as utterly controlled by its local government, and no legend, not even a whisper, would still exist of it.
As an Agent of Limbo I can assure you that Limbo is filled with those who have attachments, and luggage, teethering, and encumbering them.
Metaphorically speaking of course.
From what I read from a book by Howard Storm, and Damien brinkley...these author's died and had a out of body experience.
Hell is where one keeps juding themselves from what they had done on this plane. That is why they cannot find the white light, because they cannot forgive themselves.
As where hell is who knows...we maybe living it here now on this plane.
There are so many dimesions to the Universe....I guess one would have to die to know for sure.
The idea of a bottomless pit is not to be ridiculed, it does cross into another dimension and it is thus truly bottomless.
As gateways to hell, there has been a belief that there is a barrier between hell and earth, said barrier becomes weakest during 4 times in the year, one of them Walpurgis Night.
The Bermuda Triangle could be a gateway to Hell; or anyplace that has had a disproportionate amount of atocities.
In any case - going to find and/or check out a gateway to Hell isn't on my agenda.
I saw that on Ghost Hunters International this week. very creepy place, but nothing much happened to them.
Sounded more like the tale of King Solomen, who was believed to charm and use both Angels and Demons to construct his temple. In fact that place is actually built in reference to his temple, kind of a mini replica of it.
The Gate Way I believe is anywhere, anyplace; you open the portal to hell.
Take some books out at a libraray, I'm sure you'll see the resemblance.
~Villox~, look to Led Zepplin for your answer... HA!
~Isis~, if the Burmuda Triangle were to be considered a source for such then it would be deemed that the Vortex in Oregon, if it were proven as truth and not just another side show as well. As well as other places with the same attributes respectively.
Oh, and I was not ridiculing a thing. Sarcasm in my book may be a form of ridicule, but I did not sound as harsh as I usually do.
If such dimensional gateways within anything could exist, and I am not saying the possibility could not happen, because it has in the past... Look at the Burmuda Triangle for example. Does not mean that a small place such as a well would be presumably bottomless. My attention would be set on the facts as to whether or not a camera or recording device could be attempted to hang down the well as deep as it could possibly get... More then a few hundred feet I would imagine. Therefore obtaining proof that such bottomlessness did occur. Has that been attempted??
If a gate did exist would it be plasible that the door opened both ways. thus demons and spirits would be able to come here as we go their.
Gate to hell is somtimes the door to my house after a night with the boys. LOL
