When I went to bed early Monday morning, I did so very annoyed, I had left VR in disgust at the responses given to people when they complained about that annoying pop-up, for a film ‘Halloween’, which I now swear down, I’ve “no intention of going to see, on pure principle.”
Effectively they had been told, ‘put up with it, it brings in revenue.’
Well, as someone who paid to use the site, I find that answer indefensible.
Just think, who would join a social networking site, of any kind, when every action you make on that site [bar one] is interrupted by an advert??
I mean, that advert, taking up seconds of my time, while I’m trying to do something, nay anything on VR renders VR as a product, almost unusable, for the consumer, the users of the site.
Because of the dismissive attitude displayed to those who complained, I would suggest that every person who reads this, before it’s removed by an admin staff boycott’s that damn film, ‘Halloween’, as in England, that’s what the responsible consumer would do!
First of all, I substancially cut the number of ads that Premium Members now see. Refer to my recent Site News post and the Premium Member message that I sent to all Premium users.
Second, the issue was a glitch and it was fixed in about an hour. Once I was notified about it I got to work on it.
Glitches WILL happen. If you really think I want VR to run that way (ads serving between every page view) you're crazy. From VR's inception I have done nothing but work on making this site as functional as possible. I work hard to make this site run as smoothly as possible. Last night's issue was a temporary problem, no different than when a section goes down or the site goes offline. Issues happen with large sites.
