I was asked via another community forum the following, and would like other's views on their ideology of what is, and what isn't.
The question posed was...
how did the current form of vampirism get started? vlad dracul was also known as vlad the impaler because renown for impaling his enemies as well as his own people it was even written that he implaed one of his own house servents for complaing of a foul stench coming from a dish on the table. so how did history and im sure "hollywood" come up with the whole winged bat and blood sucking? kinda makes you think
Two answers that came through were...
> Those where all much MUCH older legends that the author used to write the Count Dracula book, basically, all he did was take a scary guy in history and just plaster his face and name onto all of these legends he used to write his story. Vlad wasn't even a count anything, he was a KING, which just shows how ridiculous the author was.
AND
Correction ... Vlad Tsepes Dracul was a Prince, not a King. None of the members of the Dracul family were Kings or Queens (or lower ranking nobility (i.e. Count, Baron, Viscount, etc). Stoker had never visited Romania and thus had no firsthand knowledge of Vlad or his family. His story was not based on actual fact (Gina stated this in a round about way *s*). Where is this story of him impaling a house servant? That's one I've not run across yet. Hollywood likes to make money. People like to be scared. Put the two together and you have "evil, bloodsucking vampires that kill and shapeshift into mist, bats wolves and possibly any other thing they desire" (depending on what legend and/or
movie or book you read).
NB: I do have permission from the people who gave their ideals here to repost
Stoker did visit Romania.. where did she get that he didn't?
his story was based on folklore and christian mythos.
it was a visiting ambassador who was impaled higher than all the rest, for daring to tell Vlad that he didn't like the smell.
What better way to chill an audiencee.. then to play on their "camp fire tales", and superstitious Ledgens" Think how "Frankinstein" went over when Doctors started transplating Organs.

I recall it being said of a theory also of vampires being nothing more than fallen angels (the ones cast from heaven when they chose to take the side of Lucifer). If people were to play on that more they could get the wings.... Just another theory Ive heard I thought I would throw out there to be played on.
The folklore about vampire creatures is found all over the world (strange) Its just for hollywood to take them all and blend them in a mixer.
Angelus, this post was started in a VAMPIRE forum on another network that I co-own. It's more of a teaching group as opposed to those more knowledgeable, hence her responses.
CuRsEdToDaRkNeSs, I personally haven't heard of that exactly in what you've quoted, but in Luciferian terms, (not so much in regards to Lucifer Himself), most Luciferians that I know are vampyric in nature.
Andie, I too agree with you, but wonder where/when the truths became myths?
The "Luciferian" esque representation is in the form of the nephilim, or annunaki. A very long story short, the fallen angels or nephilim had intimate times with the human women and thus an archetype of the vampire was brought into existance.
There are plenty of other theories, mostly conspiracy theories about a lizard race, Lilitu, Samael and involvement with Cain, as well as the old Bram Stoker esque relevance.
depends on which route this thread really wishes to take in regards to discussion.
As far as the "current form", I would surmise that the game entitled: Vampires the Masquerade had a rather large influence on the general populous throughout the mid to late 90's and the individuals that had played the game could not get enough of it and therefore started a neo version of it, without the copywrite infringement of course, thus calling themselves a sort of term "Human Living Vampire."
No offense to anyone out there by this post, as it is simple speculation and opinion. No need to get heated over a simple meaningless post.
Angelus: "Stoker did visit Romania.. where did she get that he didn't?"
The following list of online references, including from such news illuminaries as CBS News and the New York Times, definitively state that Stoker "never visited Romania":
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/05/27/60minutes/main698273.shtml
"Count Dracula's homeland, in the Romanian province of Transylvania, was a place Bram Stoker never even visited."
http://www.nytimes.com/1990/10/21/magazine/romania-s-changeless-land.html
"BRAM STOKER, THE DUBLIN-BORN AUTHOR of ''Dracula,'' never visited Romania."
Additionally, a simple google.com search will reveal page after page of additional references that state the same thing:

Given this, it would be interesting to learn where you might have heard otherwise that would have you so definitively declaring her statement to be inaccurate.

two years ago, I went to Argentina, and got an interview with the real descendant of count Dracula. I posted the article in my forum and I keep it there for a month. The main person is the mother of the family, Batori Valkai papa lenke. her daughter, Lily Sullos Luis Sullos. well, just to let you know, that if you look and see, the, you will believe.
vvSoulshroudevv, no offense taken. Thanks for your opinions and they are deservedly correct.
UpirLikhyj, would you mind so much if I added these reference links to that other forum hon? They're great for the newer members to reference.
markus666, that would have been an awesome experience. Did you manage to get any photos?
Upir.. I do not have to validate myself. simple as.
Although I notice, whenever you counter someone, you seem to take great pleasure in scoring points.
I once learnt, years back, to doubt the veracity of any and all websites, simply beause one has to ask, who put it there and, "why?"
Aracon, by all means, use the links: but may I respectfully suggest, don't use 'certain' info... some countries like to change history, to suit their needs.
Just think of how they achieve it with their films and, their portrayal of 'the truth.'
[eg: Titantic and the steward threatening to shoot passengers and the film-maker having to apologise to a whole village.]
Or.. when they say they didn't go to war over oil.
[just a thought.]
I only took one photo. Is the the mother, daughter, son and the late husband. Lily Sullos has her own web page about Astrology. Just go a check it out. Is in Spanish, but, there are some web who describe her as a descendant of count Batori.
Markus. What are you saying? That if we could see what you have seen. We would believe in what?
Sorry if Im stupid
I would sooner think the most current faze is from the Batman craze. Like who didn't watch it at some point, or wanna be infatuated of being a bat super hero or vampire!
Now Twilight has created a whole new generation of Vampire lovers.
I think this has been answered a time or two within this thread.
