There is no limits to the ingenuity of interpretations os Nostradamus. He has been credited with foreseeing the Great Fire of London, The French Revolution and the flight of Louis XVI, aerial warfare, communism, nuclear warfare, and the rise and fall of Hitler. Watergate, the Egyptian-Israeli peace accords and the AIDS epidemic are a few of the modern linkages. Now do you believe in his prediction? If yes or no, can you explain why?
"Dont il y en a trois cens qui n'ont encores iamais efte imprimees".
I think he wrote in such a vague & poetic fashion that his works could be interpreted & mistranslated to fit a wide variety of events, even centuries later.
That was the biggest problem with Nostradamus. Even though his writings were confusing at times you still have to say it was brillant even just thinking those things in his day. We also have to remember he got more wrong then he got right.
I enjoy reading his prophecies for the entertainment value but it is all to easy to link them to events that have already happened.
nostrdomus was a loser and nut job nothing he said is rtue
I really don't see how being insulting about someone who is called a profit and ingenious for his vision fits into this conversation or thread.
Anyhow, I believe that the predictions are subject to interpretation like ThothLestat pointed out, however it cannot be ignored that there may be some truth to the 'prophecies' written.
I think he truely was a genious and his writings are very interesting...
But yea they can be applied to almost anything, and i think his writings were written in parables just like the bible and indirect, I enjoy listening to all the history channels interpretations.
I think its way over-rated though...
Last night I saw the history channel offering the program "Nostradamus 2012." I found myself scoffing as I recall the modern day interpreters suggesting that Nostradamus predicted the end of the world in 1996, and then in 98, and how the man has been shown in docudrama over and over on the history channel pronouncing the end is in sight. With all the fanfare, I have no doubt the History Channel is making quite a bit of money off of the apocalyptic crowd.
He was a great man just for his writings of the visions of the future events. Yet, I agree that it is all in how one may read it and see or think he has predicted everything and if they are truly meant for what has actually happened.
yet, as was said it is amazing that in his time and life to think these things would happen and many have to be impressive in itself alone.
Yet, who can say for sure how we all will end...
