Many people have their ideas of what the Dark Path is, and there are several ignorant individuals out there who claim it is exactly as THEY dictate.

I have a question, and I would like for all who read this to participate.

Do you feel that the Dark Path is:

(1) One set walk of life that if you do not follow it, you are a pseudo-Dark Pather?

(2) A Personal spiritual journey of finding the truth the Light hides from us?

(3) The game people play online trying to be badassed, and better than everyone?

(4) A figment of some people's imaginations?

(5) something that no one person can dictate, since it all depends on each seperate individual's walk on that path?

(6) Anti-Christianity?

I would like to see your input. I'm sure you all know my views, but if not I will share after everyone else has had a chance to comment.

This is obviously a poll question and belongs in the polls but to me, the "dark path" is merely the path that you do not see as the one people are morally compelled to take. And everyone has their own opinions about what that path is.

I appreciate your input.

No, this is not a poll. It is more like a "Tell me what your ideas are, and I will submit my own" kind of discussion.

I'm wanting to check with other people on their viewpoints instead of just going on my own thoughts. For all I know, I could be wrong.

There were about other two threads about this not too long time ago.

For me everyone sees it differently.

In my opinion it's feeling different from anyone else and have your own opinions rather than follow the same belief of others.

I did not add it as one of my questions, but what do you people think of Evengelistic Crusaders who try and tell everyone what the Dark Path is?

Is it just me, or do people who claim to be Dark Path experts just...well, contradict themselves? I would think the Dark Path was something each individual determines for themselves, so no one person can be an "expert on the Dark Path".

I agree I can't even stand those who say that Dark Pathers are ALL evil,it annoys me as hell.

I think the dark path is one realistic people take to find out that the world is not a perfect place. The dark path tells us there are haters, killers, dictaters, etc.

evil is in the eye of the beholder. I agree. Anyone who claims to be an expert at anything is completely wrong because they dont know everythin about what they claim to know. They only know what they WANT to know or THINK they know.

i believe that the dark path is anyone that goes against their beliefs. what someone could consider being evil - murder - someone else could consider it normal/necessary. such people would think that healing others is evil and in doing so would be taking the 'dark path'

The Dark Path is a vague and multi-meaning Concept...It will mean something different to almost anyone who trys to explain their definition...This would be hard to put this in a poll as there would need to be more options for responses...

The dark path, I personally believe in a spiritual journey. I think my life is based somewhat on destiny, a chosen path for me I have yet to discover or experience.

I think of fluffy rainbows and loving all no matter what.

Maybe its just a general life style that follows what is considered tabboo, but at the same time you do have to do good as light and dark must come together? thats just my opinion

i have chosen to follow my Lord Christ and as such there is no dark path for me..

When I tend to travel down a dark path.. I just turn on the lights..

i like this answer but it makes me think. if one looks to the darkside of existance for an answer to spirituality and only the darkside they only find what they want and what they were looking for. you would have to walk the path of light to find what the darkness is hiding. it would be like saying steak is the best food on the planet and never have eaten pasta.

so to only walk the dark path is to be shelted by it

I think the dark path is a path we walk hidden away from us by the light due to the fact there maybe somethings we're meant to find out on our own.

i think the dark path is the path to your destiny because we all are put on this sorry pitifull earth for a reason, therefor

Broadly speaking, the term "Dark Path" has two currently popular definitions. For a lot of folks, walking the "Dark Path" means only that they are interested in Goth-like things (vampires, death, Edgar Allan Poe, reading about serial killers, etc.) with a smattering of light occult studies thrown in for good measure. In most Hermetic circles, those who take the "Dark Path" are usually practitioners of Goetic Magic who utilize ritual means to attain selfish ends regardless of who they might injure in the process.

There are different degrees of blending in both these definitions. People who sink into lives of crime, drugs, alcoholism, or psychopathology are also said to have taken a "Dark Path." The definition is pretty general. But in the Western Hermetic Tradition, the term has a much more specific meaning. It typically refers to the purely selfish use of occult powers to enhance one's ego status.

well...if u wanna see the Dark Path, there is no need to make a effort, it is yours and other 89% of Earth's population (includin me), it is the easy one...

everybody has a dark path. now it just depends on their decision: what do they wanna do with their own lifes?

The dark past is definately a personal one, no two beings will ever travel through life on the same one!
