What are YOUR beliefs on Reincarnation?
I have had dreams all my life of living in past eras. One of my past lives i believe was living in Renaissance times. When i was actually in Germany for two years , myself and a couple friends were trudging along a path and Deja Vu Hit me with the insight of what was around a bend we were coming to. I told my companions what we would find up ahead. Sure enough the things I describe WERE there. That is not the only life I believe I've lived.
It is only in the pass few yrs that I have started believing in reincarnation. I have started lookin into reincarnation and believe it is possible
I used to be in awe of the whole reincarnation concept. I don't know, though. It may seem contradictory. I believe that souls are "recycled" over time. It seems to make sense when reading about it. My mom used to say that my cousin brother is exactly the same as my maternal grandfather. The cousin has all the personailyt traits and stuff. Weird thing is, my grandfather passed away when I was 4 years old.. years before my cousin brother was born. It is kind of sentimental when one thinks that way. However, as to past lives and reincarnation, the Buddists believe in this concept. There have been records of some people recalling and retelling their past lives.. And like you've said, it may be on places and people that the person may not have seen/visited or met before. Sounds eerie, but I think this is possible. :)
I beleive Reincarnation is completely possible. They have never proved that they can't be life after death or rebirth.
Reincarnation of course I believe in it.
I believe we come back and relearn things, that we had not learnt in past life's.
i certainly hope reincarnation isn't true. Because that means sometime over the course of my existence, i'll be coming back to earth.
I believe in reincarnation. I have had a experience with it that changed my life for the better.
From a philosophical point of view, reincarnation poses some interesting problems. What is it that is reincarnated? Presumably, it is the soul that is reincarnated, but what is the soul? A disembodied consciousness?
Reincarnation does seem to offer an explanation for some strange phenomena such as the ability of some people to regress to a past life under hypnosis. Also, we might explain child prodigies by claiming that unlike most cases of reincarnation where the soul has to more or less start from scratch, the child prodigy somehow gets a soul with great carryover from a previous life, giving it a decided advantage over the rest of us. Reincarnation could explain why bad things happen to good people and why good things happen to bad people: they are being rewarded or punished for actions in past lives (karma). One could explain déjà vu experiences by claiming that they are memories of past lives. Dreams could be interpreted as a kind of soul travel and soul memory. However, past life regression and déjà vu experiences are best explained as the recalling of events from this life, not some past life. Dreams and child prodigies are best explained in terms of brain structures and genetically inheritable traits and processes. And since bad things also happen to bad people and good things also happen to good people, the most reasonable belief is that there is no design to the distribution of good and bad happening to people.
Some recent studies indicate that people aren't remembering past lives at all, but instead, the lives of others that, at some time or another during childhood, they read about, or heard about, or even fantasized about, and it leaves such an impression on their conscious that later in life they recall it as having actually happened to themselves...of having lived that particular life.
Personally, I believe anything is possible, simply because we as finite indivduals do not possess the absolute knowledge it would require to either prove or disprove anything beyond our comprehension. Anyone who claims the final word on controversial subjects such as reincarnation is either crazy or lying. You can only speculate.
I know one of my past lives... I know who she is, where she lived and what she was.....I believe myself to be learning from her mistakes and moving forward....
i know nothing of my past life(s), but i have been told i was a female in my previous life which i guess explains my feminine side
As far as my philosophy regarding karma and reincarnation, I believe that it is the destiny of the soul and the souls blueprint, ie Akashic Records, to travel through time and space via reincarnation and dimensional travels to be aquanted with itself and the oneness of the universe in order to move on into the path of ascension.
Only through this method, may the soul be at one with itself and sit next to the throne of the Great Architect of the Universe.
Sacred Geometry of the Soul (Spiritual Alchemy or True Alchemy) at its finest. It also goes along with the path of buddhism.
I do believe in reincarnation... to a point.
I dont think that everyone is reincarnated, only those of us who are still needed to bother the world. The rest die and their souls will remain with the body. This means that either they are not doing their part, or their job is simply over.
For those of us who are reincarnated, it is up to us to educate the "newbies" and make a difference.
I have had dreams of my past lives as well, and have learned alot about myself from listening to them
I remember a few of mine. Though they were mever that happy ending most times the end of those lifes came from a untimely death. Maybe this time I will destroy that record
Coolleyhou has an interesting point.
The experiment consisted of bringing people into a room who had been to disneyworld, there were flyers everywhere and a cardboard cutout of different characters, but they included bugs bunny.
When asked about their experience at disney, the majority said they remembered seeing someone in a bugs costume. The problem with that is bugs doesn't belong to disney, and would not be at the park at all.
It's one of the ways that our brains hate us. chances are, a lot of your childhood memories never happened, but were just things that you read about or saw on television.

"It's one of the ways that our brains hate us. chances are, a lot of your childhood memories never happened, but were just things that you read about or saw on television."
Are you assuming that the telly incorporates our thought process into thinking that we had little to no childhood memories to a certain extend because of the watching of the tube? That most of our memories are assumed from television shows instead of actual interaction with reality throughout our lives?
I challenge this assumption head on. I know what I did throughout my childhood. I am not sure about everyone else, but my memories are clear in distinct. Even though I do not remember most of my childhood, those things that I remember actually did happen and are NOT dilusions of grandeur or of happenstance. As well, I have pictures of where I have been.. Nothing is "made up" or "make believe" as you are assuming.
Though I fail to see where you assumption leads to any type of reincarnation or past life scenerio etching.
i think some people for reasons unknown do reincarnate.
i dont believe everyone does, and many that do reincarnate might only do so a single time.
i think most pass on to whatever their afterlife entails...heaven...hell...summerland....or just rotting in the dirt.
ive done alot of research on the subject, and im very convinced that not only does it happen, but one doesnt have to take it on faith...instead, once can prove it pretty empirically based on interviews with people, especially very young people that claim to have been someone that they could never have known, going somewhere they have never been, or doing something that the child is completely unfamiliar with.
the kid in ohio that was a ww2 naval aviator is a good example. at a very young age (3 or 4 if i recall it correctly), he knew the parts of an aircraft, knew what his name was in his other life, knew the names of his wingman, the aircraft carrier that he flew off of, and where and the circumstances of his death.
i find that to be most convincing.

I have Deja Vu alot, it's always something I have done or somewhere I've been. When I was little I would have strange dreams and later on they would come true in a way, but not always the way they happened in the though.
Now a days I can be at school or at a friends and wham it hits me, and all I can think is it feels like I have done this before.
Once a friend said to me that people are sent back to re-do the things they didn't get right the last time around. I'm starting to wonder that maybe she was right, which means I must have really been a mess in a past life, with all the Deja Vu I have ,,,,lol
I don't really know a lot about past lives and all, so any input would be greatly accepted.
I believe in reincarnation and past lives. I don't think I've recalled any past memories before but I tend to have vivid dreams a lot and lucid dreams.
Mass or energy cannot be created or destroyed. So, with that, it seems very possible that reincarnation could be real. We all came from one singularity and we're all connected because we are made up of the same materials that created this universe. We are here and we have always been here. At least, that's what I believe.

I totally Believe Re encarnation is real! because when I lost my cougar 6 years ago I ften felt his sprit and then when shadowwas born lat year i no longer felt his spirit but my boy shadow( cat) is doing many things COugar used to do... very weird but very unexplainable shadow does things only cougar knew how to do when he was alive....
At this point in time, I do have a very strong feeling I've lived another life. However that's all I know. I have no clue what gender I was, or what time period it was in.
But overall, I believe it is possible. Mainly because there is too much to learn to understand it all in one lifetime.
I find it difficult at best to find any logical reasoning behind reincarnation. A few thousand years ago there was maybe at the most a million people on the earth. Now I believe there's over 6 billion. So if everyone is reincarnated where did the other 5,999,000,000 souls come from? Go back farther in history and there were even fewer people compounding the problem even further. Even if you try to include animals into the equation the numbers just don't add up. Another point that doesn't make sense if you are to truly learn from each existence you would have to be fully aware of each and every past existence. If you can't remember the past you are doomed to repeat it. I might buy that someone with an intellect like Einstein, Hawking or Galileo had been around a few times before and learned a few things. To the best of my knowledge none of them ever claimed to be reincarnated. People like with intellect like that are few and far between. If we don't retain what was learned in the past then what would be the point?
Now as for past lives as in past life memories it is more likely for those to be genetic memories from your ancestors. "animal instinct" is many times attributed to genetic memory in animals. This seems to support the theory of genetic memory in humans. So if you had several ancestors that lived in a city you have never been to and you go to that city it is theoretically possible it may trigger a sense of deja vu or a "past life memory" because this information is in theory stored in your genetic code. The theory generally is for you to remember something from your ancestors is they either had to have an exceptionally strong personality or several ancestors had to do the same or very similar things.
The only way reincarnation makes sense to me is if something happened in your previous life to prematurely end it before it was "meant too". If you are going to subscribe to this theory then you have to believe in some form of god or supreme being. I personally believe in God and think that it is up to "him" to determine if someone was slighted in a life and worthy of reincarnation. I believe that is within his power but I doubt it is something that is often done.
I agree with Wolvie in that something must have happened to end your life prematurely or that you did not follow the course that fate had set for you and were sent back for a re-do. I believe in reincarnation and sometimes close my eyes and take a deep breathe and wonder "have i seen/done/heard this before?" I suffer(?) from deja vu, but only around certain places or people and always the people are dressed somewhat differently in my memory, though they say pretty much the same thing. I believe that for those who have been consistently reincarnated that they may have completed what they needed to but simply have choosen to return. I think I may finally have gotten it right but i don't mind the thought of returning to earth.
i believe in reincarnation. i've had memories that arn't mine . not to mention i was born on the exact day my aunt Janet died only eight years later and im so much like her sometimes that i scare my mom and gma.
The last three posts each hole something I did not know before...
Great job, Guys!
I also agree with Wolvie... I think it's possible that past lives could be tied to our ancestors and our genetic memory. It's in our blood and our DNA.
I don't believe that every human being has been reincarnated though because some people can be described to have a "new born" soul. I believe that certain people under certain circumstances could be reincarnated, at least until that person has reached a sense of peace with their life on Earth. But who is to decide who will go back? That is a good question, could be an act of God or your own will to finish what was left undone. Definitely depends on your beliefs.
As for animals, I do believe they can be reincarnated as well. One of my cats Caesar, about 10 years ago, died from some sort of cancer and I remember him being in pain and saying bye to him for the last time. A year or so after he died, one of our cats had kittens and one of the cats we named Ozzy looked almost exactly like Caesar. He had the same black and white tabby pattern and the same patterns on the face. Ozzy is really friendly and living a long happy life, he's about 8 years old. I've heard of similar stories too from articles. Sometimes it's just too much of a coincidence.
i believe that everyone reincarnate and develop new lives
I deffiantly do believe it is possible.. Theres times when iv been to a totally new place iv never been to before and feel de ja vue..
FadedMemory1024 raised an interesting point, if people can be reincarnated then can Our furrier friends? I think that all things can be given the right circumstance.
