I am not suggesting that anyone disclose any secrets, just simple outline will be great.I would also like to point out that this thread is not intended to put one's technique up for debate, but more for an exploration of their diversity.

egyptian magick is very based in ritual and prayer. i have been doing alot of research into egyptian beliefs and esoteric practices as well.
but i really dont want to divert the path of the thread. a one post answer can not begin to answer this.

LOL It would take more than one thread Im sure LW to even begin.Thank you for the imput. As far as ritual,do you feel that rituals are alot different in EM as opposed to..lets say Wiccan ritual?I am sure there are similarities though,ie; prayer or chants?

wiccan is pretty much make it up as you go...
not saying its bad or anything, but its very free form and really shows what a youthful (about 50 years old) belief system it is.

egyptian magick is very precise...things must be done a certain way or it can either do nothing (which is what you should hope for) or it can cause active harm to you. its a bit like a firearm. its quite safe as long as you follow several rules...you know...the point the hole in the metal tube at what you want to hit...that sort of thing. these are spells that have been around in various forms for over 6000 years (pre old kingdom).

its a very interesting field of study for me.

I would have to agree with you there LW.However,I like the sound of the EM and I do believe I will be looking into it to see what its all about.Thank you for posting about it.
Let me ask you...Does resonance and Harmonics play a big role?

there is no evidence that the original practitioners used harmonics or resonance, but i use it for my runic practices, so i tend to transpose it. i have discovered that resonance seems to really reinforce whatever energies are being put out.
so just my experience.

the runes are the alphabet of the germanic peoples, but each letter of this alphabet has a name, a meaning, and magic that it can be used for.

the lore says that these symbols were given to humans by odin...the father of the germanic gods.

in my experience it is the most primal of the magical systems, and very powerful.

this isnt a little candle love ritual, but the forces of the universe of the forces that we call the gods.

I find it really interesting. And if it is as you say(which I do believe in your opinion) then I certainly see how resonance would be very important.
When you use these runes,do you arrange them? Pull them out of a bag or box? or somthing to that affect? And what would they normally be made of?
BTW,thank you for answering my questions.:)

you draw runes from a bag to perform divination, but i really dont like that practice. sort of like putting the engine from a jet airliner on a 76 pinto station wagon lol.

usually you first think on what it is you wish to accomplish, then the appropriate rune is then cut into something (wood usually) and blooded.
the name of the rune is then chanted while you visualize what it is you wish to happen. if there is more than one person involved, then harmonics can come into play as well.
again, its a thumbnail but should give you an idea of what goes on.

It does indeed give me a good idea LW.Thank you for the info. Now,are all runes the same? Or is there a variation ?I mean,I think I understand that a group of them in one would be different from one another, but are there different types?

For me, I consider myself to be Pagan. A non-denominational witch. My beliefs are a patch work of many different religions including christianity, judaism, islam, druidism, and many more.

I am very curious about Egyptian majick and Rune majick as well. Elaboration on this thread or in private would be well recieved.

Thanx,
Vicereine

Yes, extreme focus and concentration on a dark wavelength.
Not easy to explain, a bit like feeling the weight of a dart, then when it is just in the right position one projects energy often accompanied by the roar within. The circumstances and environment have to be in the correct positions... Perhaps Majick is not the right word.

this isnt something you just decide to do. you should take at least a year to just learn to clear your mind and meditate. the meditation techniques are what allow you to clear your mind, but you really do need to work at it and get good at it.

I usually avoid this kind of discussion, mainly because there are always so many opposing ideas and opinions. This time I read through and saw the discussion was to be on the techniques used.

What actually happened had more to do with perceived types of magic.

I'd like to say this next without offending anyone. There is no one type of magic. Egyptian, Wiccan, even Crowley's Thelema. It's all like water.

Water is water. You can have it as a solid, liquid, or vapor, but it's still water no matter what name you give it.

Just as there are different methods of freezing water, there are different methods or techniques of using magic. The "technique" may vary, but the magic, and concept of what you are doing remains the same.

The big difference in technique isn't really a difference at all..but the dreaded old bugaboo - thought forms.

This is an idea or concept we usually shape with a symbol or word to convey our meaning, the way we shape our will on magic itself.

Not to be confusing..remember the old movies where the wagon wheel fell off the wagon, and the people had to find a big stick and rock to lever up the wagon and put it back one? Simple concept.

Today we do the same thing with our cars..but we use "jacks". Nothing has really changed but our way of thinking about how we raise the car.

Egyptian magic used antique forms to convey the same things we do today with our "modern" ideas.

Magic hasn't changed. It's like the water in your body or in your coffee cup. You can dilute it, pollute it, and misuse it, but it's still the same. Only the way you work with it has changed.

great post ob and i also agree.

the differences are in your analogy...

i find much magic to be diluted or polluted. i see undiluted purity.

i realize im taking your analogy farther than your intent, but still, that is my thought.

also since the thought forms depend on ones own feelings, my feelings toward the truly ancient forms enhance my experience, and ability.
