While reading though a site about ghosts i can across a section that refered to Etheric revenants. I have never heard of this term and cant find anything else on the subject.

Has anyone else heard of this and if so please share what knowledge u have on the subject.?

Well that one sounds like gaming but who knows. There are several concepts of the etheric plane which is a higher plane or subplane of the physical. In folklore a revenant is an animated corpse or ghost you can see but if it was of aether it would be made of energy. So I would say some sort of energy being. I know revenant has been used in some places to mean someone who was changed into a vampire but because they are not born this way they remain a revenant and although their characteristics are similar they are not a true vampire. That word is sort of used loosely.

The word revenant is given to one in spirit who has bad intentions....bit like a poltergiest.......etheric is a word used generally to describe one who does not have a physical body.

So I would doubt the original vampire theory.

they are the one's that can physically hurt you..not like a spirit

Etheric Revenant - In occult lore, a dead person who has prevented himself or herself from passing through the Second Death, the seperation of the soul from the etheric body. A variety of magical means were once taught to allow individuals to achieve this state as a way of prolonging existence after death and avoiding the potential difficulties of the afterlife. In one interpretation, much of the magical lore of ancient Egypt had the goal of allowing the dead to linger as etheric revenants.
The existance of a revenant depends on three factors. First, the former physical body must be preserved. Second, the revenant must avoid direct sunlight and other factors that tend to disperse etheric structures. Third, the revenant must have a regular source of etheric energy. In many cultures, these needs were met by methods of embalming, burial practices involving earth mounds or stone structures surrounded by taboos, and regular offerings of food and drink.
In historical times, the collapse of these customs forced would-be revenants into progressively more dangerous practices, of which vampirism is perhaps most common.

i heard somewhere that revenants haunt battlefields and graveyards - that they are a kind of ghoul.

yes i do beleive you are right about a ghoul karnstien. they are graverobbers and feed off of corpses.

according to some legends, ghouls (like vampires) have a physical presence. like litches they are reanimated corpses,rather than mere spirit entities.
ghouls, vampires, revenants, Litches, and zombies are undead.

I did alittle Research and this is what i found....

The etheric body is a halfway house between the physical and spiritual bodies. The etheric body is very closely knit with the physical body; when you are alive it conveys the energies of the spirit world and, when intact, prevents damaging entities intruding. Protection through the etheric body is our birthright, but it can be breached in many ways - by repeated use of hallucogenic drugs, by injuries to the body (especially the head) and by consulting ouija boards. The term revenant is used to describe someone who is not trapped at the earth level, but has moved to the spirit world, and whose memories or desires take them back to the place where they first felt them. Occasionally the person will manifest and is mistaken for a ghost; it's only through contact that I can determine that they are a revenant. Fear, sorrow and bitterness usually indicate a ghost, whereas a revenant is more likely to bring feelings of happiness
