Scrying is something of the new to me. I have a very hard time focusing and was wondering if anyone else could give some insight.
For those that are not familiar with Scrying, below you will find some information.
Scrying is a method of divination and takes on many forms. Information received varies with the type of scrying one is using to get answers. Information can be objective, message given that are independing of the scryer - or subjective, determined or influenced by the scryer. Scrying can also be viewed as a form of mediumship, messages allegedly coming from another realm. This all goes to the scrying tool used and the interpretation of the symbol shown. A dream dictionary is often helpful.
As consciousness is evolving, so too are the meanings of the symbols.
Scrying comes from the Old English word descry meaning "to make out dimly" or "to reveal." Adding the prefix/suffix 'be' (often 'gye' in Germanic languages), gives us the modern word 'describe'.

ty for the link i need to freshen up on my scrying and other gifts. i have been lapse on my learning.
You are welcome, I have been lagging on working on my gifts as well too. So posting also gives me that push to start things up again.
i have no room and privacy here so its hard for me to study or practice.
Ive read a little about scrying -- it's very complicated considering all the crystals involved. I would love to watch someone attempt to scry. I would even be more interested in learning how to determine how crystals are found/blessed, etc.
I have found some more information on Scrying for those who are intrested.
The first step in scrying is to pick out the medium that you wish to scry with. There are many choices. They range from the simplest (a clear glass filled with water) to the expensive (a large, clear crystal sphere). There are many variations in between.

i started out scrying in a flame i tried a candle flame but found that an actual fire was easier, especially if its in a fireplace, or a camp fire.. just easier to sit and stare at it... i've resently (with in the last two years) started using a crystal. its a bit more difficult but it works.
(scrying is also known as remote viewing)
I've never tried this. The closest thing to it that I've ever had happen is when I was just staring into a pond and could see something happening to my boyfriend. Does that count at all?
How interesting, I shall have to look more up about this. Thank you.
I personally have never tried this but I have heard of it before from a couple of my friends.
Practicing meditation on a daily basis is helpful in finding and maintaining the proper level of consciousness that is needed for successful scrying. First you need to have a quiet room where you will not be disturbed. The lighting must be as dim as possible. Candlelight is most conducive to the scrying process. It also helps the senses to burn incense such as Frankincense, benzoin, copal resin, or sandalwood. Another good fragrance to use is lavender essential oil. Lavender is excellent for relaxing the mind and stimulating the third eye. Some soft meditation music playing in the background can help you to clear, relax, and focus your mind. Make sure that you are seated comfortably upon a meditation pillow with your scrying surface directly in front of you in a position that is right for you. As you are staring into the reflective surface of your scrying tool, you will want to stare past your own reflection until it fades. After several minutes you will begin to see random images. They don't always make sense at first, but eventually with a little practice you may begin to see things that will later come to pass.
I like to use my fireplace. Not as easy that way, for me anyway, too much flickering. I also have an amber crystal i use, easy on the eyes.
From what I remember of it, this should be undertaken when well rested, and fed. One should be in a somewhat darkened room using a small flat pan filled with a small amount of water. Make sure the water level is enough to cover th pan bottom by at least an inch.
Pick a comfortable seat, where you can see at about a 45 degree angle into the pan. Make shure there is no reflection from your light source into the pan. The object is to have a perfectly blank, flat surface to look into.
Get comfortable, and relax. Take several deep breaths in through the nose, and exhale through the mouth. Begin staring into the water, keeping your mind as still, and blank as possible. If it works, after a little while you may see images in the water.
Do notget frustrated if it doesn't work the first few times. Practice makes perfect, and keeping one's mind clear is not an easy task for most.
THere ya have it, my two scents worth LOL
fire is easy for me simply cause its my element.... fire has always mezmerized me much like dragons and magic
I don't use crystals, clouds, or any of those, i prefer another way. I use a black mirror, i purchased it and it has done wonders for me. smudge some sage, light a few candles, and there I go, scrying to my heart's content. Some instances, to guide the recently deceased spirits home to the Summerland.
scrying is very intresting but i have to be in the right state of mind to do it. I love to use crystals and candle flames.
Thank you for all the info and the link I did not know what it was.
I would love to learn how to scry. Can anyone give me some pointers, or weblinks and stuff like that to help me out?
scrying is something that takes time and practice but after you master it , its a wonderful, tool and and art. but definitely not one to be abused or misused
I've tried this, but I've never been able to make it work.
This is definitely something I want to believe in but just can't. Staring into an inanimate object to see reflections of things that could or have happened seems to me more of a projection of one's subconcious. Almost like desires that come to the forefront and play out like a blurry movie on a shimmery surface so that we don't have to give ourselves credit for the vision.
I agree with you about that darkmasterdruid01. Just like any magic, it is not ment to be abused. I myself am coming into my power, learning how to properly use it to help my family, and my friends. I believe that mastering scrying would be most rewarding, if used properly.
I've only had scrying work for me about 2 times. When it did work I was concentrating on a colorful wall scroll I had hanging at the time but this was about 5 yrs ago. Ever since then I've had really no luck at it.
i have found that Scrying, is a beautiful art that is like a garden with a lil time and care it turns out to be wonderful
I have always been interested in learning how to scry. It has always been an interest of mine.
Thanks for all the insight everyone. It has been very helpful
