Okay.. im getting a razz n shit about the Art Auction (as you can see, im irratated with our government).

There is hoopla with the cruiseline over the art auction. Seems there are quite a few laws out there when it comes to international sales of art.. and we would be in international waters..

1. Art must be accompanied by sales receipts from the last 3 owners of the peice, allowing the sale to the next. OR if its an original... a certified certificate of ownership must accompany it.

2. If the owner is not traveling with the peice.. the owner of the peice must have a permit for the international sale.

aarrgghhh..

Okay.. I have the time slot and its not going anywhere... So... I am combining those two events on Thursday.. 2 HOUR OPEN BAR. And well let the band and a few vendors display a few things.. plus have a freebie giveaway.

Bring someone back to their cabin once their to drunk to find it?

I can do that. Even if piss drunk myself, I'm always good at getting everyone back safe and retaining their honor.

Well, they wouldnt see any of the monies. The profits go to a charity.

well thats annoying that the gov't wants to block charity $$. I bet if it was to build a new battleship we'd have no issues :P.

I'd still do whatever I could for a fundraising event.

I don't mind not seeing money from selling my own art, as long as I know i's a legit charity the money is going to.

Me ether.. I would be way more than happy to do some just for that...

Ok.. the charity is for the Childrens Center of Autism here in the Tampa Bay Area.

They will choose a family, and all of the money will go to that family. It is managed by the USF Autism and Child Delevopement Center.

Just a thought. If it's too much hassle to do it on the ship. could it be part of the pre/post partys?

I would guess that the "art" auction company on all of the cruise lines lobbied the government to put obstacles in place to reduce any competition. I have read of a buch of people that have had issues when buying some of their "artworks".

really the area for the pre and post cruise party's are to small.

I think that is a great charity!....I have a friend whos son has Autisum....It gets tough for them but I think any family that is chosen will be so greatful....

It is to bad that the facilities for the Pre-Party are not big enough...Because thats a great idea (KCRC)....We could definently get arround all the other BS....*growls at the goverment*...

Art includes: Literary books of a gothic nature, paintings, statues, etc.

You must have ownership rights of the peice(s). You will need to send a signed letter with your item(s) stating your ownership. A copy of a receipt is even better.

Okay.. the final word on this. The two events will be combined.. and we have a free raffle instead with the DJ's spinning.. open bars.. free alcohol.. etc.
