This is definitely going to be our fist time being away for an entire week at a time. You don't realize how much happens/can pile up in that amount of time. I think we're just starting to realize that now. I think a to-do list is essential in order to avoid forgetting anything!
So I'll start:
*do you have any bills due that week?
*is your car ok where it's parked (for us city dwellers)?
*have you set your away message on emails, etc if you don't plan on going online during the cruise?
*will your cell phone work (for those of us not planning to throw ours in the lake)?
*pets? other people/creatures that will seek attention/care while you're gone?
That's all I can think of for now but I'm sure I'll add more later. I am very excite!!! So come on people, chime in!
Did you bring your birth certifate or passport?
Did you bring enough cigarettes for the 1st night? Because it takes hours for those onboard shops to open up.. and your travel agent aint sharin. :)
Did you bring your travel insurance info in case of emergency?
Did you give your relative a copy of your itinerary in case they need to reach you on the ship?
Is someone feeding spot?
Did I bring my cruise tickets? (we are mailing those out this weekend).
Most commonly forgotten items:
Batteries for camera, film for camera (no one ever forgets the camera though), Actual CASH for casino or shopping. (ATM fees are killer onboard.. yes.. they have an ATM), BEACH SHOES, a straw hat. (if your hair is black.. the sun will kill you in the caribbean). Soap, Shampoo, and Conditioner (the stuff on the ship sucks).
What else do I recommend?
A small battery operated handheld fan. A small parasol. LIGHT clothing for when you burn the hell out of yourself because you said fuck it. Aloe gel to put in the fridge for the same reason.
I thought the ship only took onboard credit? So we should bring cash?
Also - for those of us doing the pre-party. What happens when we arrive at the Orlando airport? Someone's waiting for us w/ one of those signs? We need to email you our flight info right?
You have to bring cash to the casino table.
The Marriott shuttle will pick you up at the orlando airport.
Yes. You need to email your flight itinerary to me.
ok so only if you're gonna gamble and shop on the shore? what about like vnv merch @ the concert? will there be any? cuz i missed out big time when i went to the concert here - i was way too wasted to deal w/ it and i saw some cool shit i wanted...
and obviously drinks, etc are onboard credit things - werd!
aaah good looking out - thanks for the info...
so the next question is how much should we really bring i mean reasonably speaking...
like there's prob one range if you're going to gamble and one if you're not i supposed
i just don't want to end up bringing too much or too little
i usually don't carry any around during my day to day life - i just use my debit card. usually i'm prone to more frivilous spending if i have cold hard cash burning a hole in my pocket!
I emailed our flight info to the marriott using the link on your web site. Is this what I was supposed to do?
No. And not to be rude.. but I have stated it numerous times.
You need to email me your flight itinerary to: info@allgenretravel.com
Thank you.
it's about crunch time so i know you probably have about five billion things to do Z - no worries, we'll be cruisin in no time ;)
my b/f just emailed our flight info and names, is there anything else we need to do or are we all set? we arrive at the airport and just go to the shuttle area? will there be a sign or some ish?
Please see the message in the forum marked: "precruise party"

You arranged our flights so you don't need me to send you my info!!!
Being as how you did not book under the name of Azzlyn.. I have no way of knowing that.. or who you are.

Good point. Sorry, I woke up on the dumba** side of the bed yesterday:)
I know Carnival will develop film, but does anyone know if they will make you a cd from your digi-cards? If not I can always upload to photobucket from the internet cafe, but I want to make sure I have a quick backup for my digi-pics.
From what I remember they do make cd's for photos but I have no clue how much
I'm sure some of us will bring CDRs and EVERYONE will have a cd/dvd burner in their laptops. Just buy them a drink and you'll get the CD. ;)
agreed.
I think mine burns a full cd of various stuff in about 3 min, so feel free.
