Each cabin gets 100.00 of free shipboard credit.. that you can use towards drink purchases. (Single cabins gets 50.00). Your cabin also gets a free bottle of wine on your first formal night. There are also two cocktail parties with open bars. The ship will have a captains cocktail party as well on the first formal night - for a total of 3 cocktail parties.
The average drink cost is about 6.25 for a mixed drink with premium liquor. 3.00 for a beer. (by the way, they only ID the person buying the drink). The cruise line does run daily drink specials for about 3.75 per drink. The cruise lines do NOT hold back on the liquor!
You can get an unlimited soft drink card for about 40.00 - this gives you unlimited foutain soft drinks throughout the cruise.
Cruise tips are about 70.00 per person. (however you CAN prepay these before the cruise, which I highly recommend.. i always forget when i get drunk).
I personaly, can have a good time, and pay my tips for about 300.00 Not including any souveniors.. and I pay my tips before I go.
NOTE THE CRUISE SHIP DOES NOT TAKE CASH.
You need to have a credit card (and make sure its cleared for international charges), or a cash deposit of 400.00 when you check in. You can always put down more money on your shipboard account. You are given a room key which also acts as a "charge card". All purchases on the ship are charged to that card.
All charges on the ship, are charged to your shipboard account as you go. If you have a credit card, the monies are frozen as you make purchases.
On the last night of the cruise, your total billing statement will be dropped off at your cabin. REVIEW YOUR BILL ALWAYS. If you find your bill is correct and you are using a credit card - do nothing, and it will be charged automaticaly the next morning. If you put down a cash deposit, you will need to go to the pursers desk for your refund of unspent monies.
so everytime u get a drink and whatever else u use ur room key to purchase it?
how do u prepay the tips?
i think it wud be easier to just take a credit card, do they accept debit cards?
if i use my debit card to pay for the cruise booking then it will automatically be used for payment of the final bill on the last day of the cruise?
Question: so everytime u get a drink and whatever else u use ur room key to purchase it?
Answer: yes. This is called your sail and sign card. Kinda like putting a credit card down on a hotel room when you check in.. and then charging things to your room.
Question: how do u prepay the tips?
Answer: When you call or email to book, let me know you want to prepay your cruise tips. That will just raise the final balance due by 7/14/07 by the cruise tips.
Question: i think it wud be easier to just take a credit card, do they accept debit cards?
Answer: yes. It must have a visa or mastercard logo, and have at least 300.00 dollars available on it. Be sure to call the card company and let them know you are taking it on a cruise, so they will expect international charges.
Question: if i use my debit card to pay for the cruise booking then it will automatically be used for payment of the final bill on the last day of the cruise?
Answer: If you authorize it yes. Note. We cannot charge your final payment without your permission, unless you give permission when you first book to automaticaly charge the final balance without a call or email from you. You do have to submit that by email - so that we have verification that we are authorized to charge it automaticly on 7/14/07.
Bumped do to the sheer number of phone calls I have received with this question.
Just to clarify - we specify which credit card we want it charged to when we get there right? It doesn't automatically get charged to the one we used to book. We used more than one in fact...
I'm probably repeating the same question but just want to make absolute sure...
awesome - thank u! i think i might be officially done badgering u w/ questions now...yes it's time to just be excited now damnit!
So Per cabin means if you have a roommate the shipboard credit listed is halved? Does this apply even if you agreed to a roommate at the beginning to be assigned but paid the full amount for a single person?
Everyone gets 50.00 per person shipboard credit for the 1st two people in each cabin.
Hi Z-
Does your card get authorized $400 per person or per room?
Thanks!
Ha Our last Cruise our liqour bill was 700$ alone.... I fear this cruise... THank God for Carnival Sea Miles.....
If my bill ran over $200 I'd want them to return my tips :P. It shouldn't take much to get me loaded.
On my May 19th cruise... my bar bill alone was over 750.00
Thank GOD next years cruise is ALL INCLUSIVE!
YES! MORE DRINK FOR ME!
But you can put the full 400 on one card, yes? I know it's a ridiculous question but I'm in that weird planning 'must know all the details' stage.
$750 bar bill?
Welp, my booze smuggling preperations are about to enter a whole new level of earnest!
OK- I just figured out what $750 in a bar tab breaks down to...
over 8 days at an average of 5 dolla a drink- you'd be looking at 18-19 drinks PER DAY!
You guys are loco and I like it!
;)
Well I do drink a lot but that also included a bottle of wine at dinner everynight and we went a little martini crazy:) But it still was a lot to total $750:)
I had over 20 drinks a day really.. you forget the free cocktail parties from the ship.. and at the art auction show..
they had a free tequilla tasting once.
See.. this is why next years goth cruise will be all inclusive. Then I wont have to worry about it.
Oh and just cuz I know they do it the night of when we board.... THey have a free liquor tasting in the liqour store....yum... I bought 4 bottles and thet included a free bottle of Vodka free:)
I read the $750 and about had a HEART ATTACK! Cause even though I am a tiny asian girl, I can drink a LOT. (shots anyone?) Makes me wonder how bad MY bar tab is going to be....EEP!
Free booze is good, I plan on taking advantage of as many tastings, and stuff that I can possibly do. Oh and bring a bottle of champagne for one of the dinners...Z how exactly does one go about turning it in to get it uncorked at the table? Do I just hand it over when we check in for the cruise?
You will be fine Industrial.... We just buy a lot of bottles of wine and such on the boat.
Z.... the open bars that we get for Club Goth and such are they the pre-made drinks from the Captains party or is it open bar whatever we want to drink?
I as well as ShutterBun are down for all the free BOOZE we can get our drunken little hands on as well girl! :D
The open bars will have a few premade drinks.. those most often ordered however the entire bar will be open.
Yes.. you hand over the bottle of champagne and let them know you are paying the corkage fee.
