Dining in the main dining room is approximately 5 courses ( and about 12 peices of silverware.. and 4 different glasses).
Dinner in the main dining room for the gothic cruise is at 8:30pm. (and guys.. please do not smack the waiter for placing your linen napkin in your lap - Yes. its happened).
Dress is always Resort Casual. No Jeans, swimsuits, or shorts are allowed in the dining room.
There are 2 formal nights. You can dress modern era formal.. or Renaisance, Baroque, or Victorian Era.
On the first formal night, there will be a captains cocktail party throughout the ship. That means free drinks for 30 mins to an hour.. all you can drink.
Compliments of myself, each cabin will also get a free bottle of wine with their dinner during the first formal night.
Guys. You must be dressed formal too. Tux/Tie.. or Top Hat/Tails.
Jeannie Nitro has good ideas for formal wear for guys as well. Ruffles are allowed.
I have a few questions regarding dinner arrangements:
1) Will Carnival be assigning the table arragements by putting all of the group members "into a hat", or will they be made seperatley and given to Carnival?
3) Do you know which dinning room we will be in?
4) Do you know which nights are the formal nights? Typically they arrange these on sea days, but sometimes not.
5) Will they have the ship's doctor available in the dinning room when Ma and Pa Kettle from Omaha find out their table is next to a bunch of "Crazy Satanic freaks?" LOL
Hehehe... no doctor required.
The formal nights will be Sunday and Thursday. (though Thurs can change) Sunday is the Captains cocktail party - AFT lounges on Deck 5. From 6:00 to 6:45 its all you can drink in these lounges!
ah, yours truly personaly has to sit down, and assign dining. I assign specific tables to specific cabins. It generaly takes me two days to do it all.
Remember, its gothic formal for the formal nights. Victorian or Baroque era gowns.. vampire elegant, etc are good. Guys.. top hat (velvet works).. and coat/tails are also acceptable.
Everyone is on 8:30pm Dining. We have priority seating for dinning. Meaning, they will bump other people from the dining room before they bump us.
I will be sending a "gothic cruies" itinerary to everyone, once I lock down the pool party times (at night of course) with the ship.
Arranging seating sounds like a...ummm...pain? Yah.
I wondered if you had any idea about veggie dishes? I know they'll offer them, but I'd like to know I won't be living on salad and beans for a week. That wouldn't be conducive to all the other activities (or the free coctail parties).
Nooo... the vegetable menus are off the charts.. but so is the lobster, steak, lamb.. chicken.. pizza... hamburger, escargo (eeww)... and more.
My fiancee turns into a glutton on lobster night.
Yummy! Lobster Night! *Drools* All the food is included in the Cruise awesome.
Yes.. all the food is included... if you can eat it.. its included.
Ha! I don't "turn into a glutton." I'm a glutton at heart to begin with. I just unleash the beast on poor shrimp, lobster, cow, and lamb. Besides, if there was ever a time to crame food, isn't it during a FREE meal??? Note, I take that same approach when it comes to free booze. My record so far is 15 Sprite and Bacardi, 2 whiskey shots, and a Mamosa in an hour span. I'm looking to bea that record multiple times. =) Just try not to ask me where the bathrooms are after the cocktail party... I may accidently send you into the bowels of the ship. ;)
The hard part will be to balance the food/drinks with a bit of workouts for me. I've found that a week to 10 days off kills me when I go back.
Besides, those tight pants aren't gonna look good if my belly starts to preceed me around corners....
mmmmm *drool* escargo.......its been years....oh and thank you for the wine!!!
Don't forget the Sushi bar and fish & chips shop.
I think all you have to pay extra for is the "Premium Resturaunt"...Which, I can't imagine why you would go there, when you would miss eating with the rest of us, and the "Creames" specialty coffee / pastry shop.
yet another good bumper. we'd be amazed at how many of our burning questions were already answered so long ago hehe
The food in the Dining room is off the charts yummy! The ship treats ya like royalty. THanks for the Wine Z. I starved myself the last 2 weeks cuz every 7 day cruise I tag on like 8 pounds.. Try the Chocolate melting cake!!!
all of my pants come with 2" of room for just this reason. (cept for vinyl and a tight pair of clubjeans, both of which will prolly be worn early in the week before I expand)
Ok so the dining room meal is different from the buffet, yes?
Yep.
We have the main dining room for the "sit down" dinner experience, which has a set time and seating arrangement. It's located in the center of the boat.
Then you have the buffet style dinning that is served at the rear of the boat. Seating is open and you grab what is on the buffet.
Don't forget the sushi bar, pizza, fish and chips, all at different locations, and serving most of the day.
Then you have room service whenever you want it...
Though the buffet food is good the Dining room is exceptional. Oh and the pizza place is 24 hours:)
