I know this is probably redundant.. but just in case...
Please remember you are going through security to board the ship, just like you would if boarding an aircraft at an airport.. To help expedite your boarding.. please take note:
1. go to www.carnival.com and move to the bottom of the page. Here you will find FUNPASS. This is your preboarding information checkin. THIS IS REQUIRED! You must complete this at least 30 days prior to sailing. You will NEED to print out your funpass for boarding.
2. Do not wear finger armour/armour rings while boarding. Pack these in your checked baggage.
3. Wear as little metal as possible. If you keep setting off the metal detectors.. you will be searched. It will also hold up the lines and cause irratability with other passengers. (this doesnt mean you have to take out your peircings).
4. Take one carry on bag with you, plus a toiletry bag. Do NOT put questionable items in your carryons.
5. NO CANE SWORDS. This is directly from homeland security. They will seize these as weapons.
6. Do not try to bring Alcohol onboard the ship. If it is your honeymoon and you want to bring a bottle of wine/champagne onboard that you received as a gift, please call me and I will have it added to the manifest - the cruise line will charge a 7.00 corkage fee for this. It is much easier to just order a bottle of wine/champage to be delivered to your stateroom by the way.
Do not wear spikes while boarding. If they are removeable.. take them off and put them in your CHECKED bags. If they are not removeable.. wear something else while boarding.
And finaly.. as it happens on every goth cruise I have escorted.. please do not yell at me because port security gave you a hard time about an item I have warned you about. Port Security does NOT work for the cruise line. Port Security is operated through the Port Authority which is owned, and commanded by the government.. AKA Homeland Security... AKA Big Brother.
Sorry you have to put up with such shite for all that you do for us, but know that we appreciate you!!! Look in the mirror and say this mantra...
I freakin' rock! I work miracles. Anyone who pisses me off will be personally chucked overboard by Ragdoll.
Repeat five times or until veins have dissappeared from forehead!
About the FunPass...
In step 3-After Your Cruise it asks for transportation and hotel reservation information. Do we fill this out now or closer to the cruise. If we fill this out now...what info do we put on it?
Sorry, this is my first cruise. If I'm just missing the obvious please let me know. Thanks.
It doesn't matter when you fill it out, as long as it's before the cruise. Bring the printed forms with you when you check in. They use the information to organize the disembarkation process, attempting to get those who have earlier flights off teh ship 1st. It doeSn't always work out!.
It will be my honeymoon...people can donate champagne for me :) *hint hint*
Sounds like quite a few people are making this thier "honeymoon".....luckily everyone gets a free bottle in thier room thanks to Z....
On the FUNPASS registration..
If you are taking the precruise party.. please check private transportation.
Sorry it took so long.. i fell down some staris this week, and havent been on to much.
on the funpass - what about hotel information if we are doing the pre/post parties?
For the funpass.. just check the private transportation option.
awesome! we will try calling you again tonite to finish up our payments :)
STUPID QUESTION - do we get the precruise party hotel info with all the final booking info after the last payment is received???? just want to double check.
so you're going to snail mail us all those confirmations, etc?
Everyone gets an email confirmation, and a snail mail confirmation.
Because we are in the middle of final payments, it is taking me quite some time to get all the snail mail out of the office.
ok just making sure b/c we did not receive email confirmation nor have our cards been charged yet (well last we checked) but it's cool i understand you're swamped lol
DARN!! and here I was thinking I would pick up all my booze in Orlando, stuff it in a suitcase and smuggle it on board the ship. :(
Is there anyway we can still do that? put booze in a suitcase? how would they even know it was in there?
Is all luggage going through inspection as well or a X-ray machine?
Thanks,
~A
I have a problem... I can't print out my FunPass (which I completed like months ago) because my roommate hasn't completed his side. I've emailed him like 3-4 times and no response.
*Scowl* I've been trying but I think that my booking number was never changed as I haven't been able to log on.
...EVAR.
Annisse,
I've heard it both ways. I have heard people say they put a bottle in the luggage and it made it just fine, and I've heard a couple of horror stories about people getting it confiscated and a nastygram for it.
Bottom line, try it at your own risk.
Carnival was having a few technical problems over the last month with their Funpasses.
IF YOU ARE HAVING DIFFICULTY EMAIL ME IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT WAIT.
i think this one deserves a bump. i'm going crazy here reviewing the airline restrictions for fucking toothpaster, etc. lol arg!
i hope they're not as strict w/ carry on toiletries on the boat as they are on the plane. i guess i'll double check on the carnival site - but if anyone knows for sure feel free to chime in ;p
phew b/c i was gonna just check most of my toiletries for the plane. but we need to carry them onto the boat b/c we won't be able to get at our checked baggage right away, correct?
correct. do pack something in your carry on to wear at dinner.. you probably wont have your luggage by then.
So what is acceptable dinner wear for non-formal nights?
True dat.
I don't own many slacks (because they look like total ass on me). I do however own a pair of vinyl pants that look nice, and clean, fresh bdu's. Plus a pair of actually decent Shrine slacks for the more formal occasions.
I tried finding more, but short of $50/pair, neither me, black, or my 32/30 measurements are 'in vogue'
Formal Nights are slightly different for us. We can wear modern formal.. or vampire, victorian, baroque.. etc.
No jeans, shorts, tshirts or club wear are allowed in the dining room at anytime.
Jeans CAN be worn the first night which is embarkation day.
Is wearing a nice dress shirt and slacks without a tie acceptable?
OK, good enough for me. I usually don't like what they serve in fancy restraunts anyway. Caviar? Yuck! I think my Mom ruined me when I was young by forcing me to go with her and her friends for all those Sunday brunches at the fancy restraunts with all the ice sculptures. To this day, if it ain't in the burger, taco, or pizza group, it ain't food to me! LOL
that evenings dining room menue can be found right outside the dining room.
You can also find that menu in the Carnival Capers.. however on my May sailing of the Glory, they had been talking about no longer including it in the capers.
well I'll see if I can acquire a clip-on tie before then. I'd at least like the option of stopping by, even if I'm not necessarily interested.
It'll just be the same outfit each time :P
Good idea Skully! Although the thought of having to dress up just to eat does not agree with my ways, especially wearing a tie, I would like to have the option to join in if I wanted to...
