What does ESG stand for? It is an Epilepsy Support Group.
The point of this group is to for people who have Epilepsy or relatives with Epilepsy to openly talk about it. Experiences that have been encountered and how their Epilepsy (or family members) developed.
It is also to raise awareness about Epilepsy. Children and adults both experience a life with Epilepsy. Furthermore, you and friends can make and wear shirts to raise awareness. In addition to that, the group can not only give advice to decease risks of having another seizure but tips for food that is good for people with Epilepsy and living a better life with it.
What is Epilepsy? It means that a person has seizures. The severity of it depends on each person as well as medication. Some may have multiple seizures in one day or a week while others may only have it once in a while. The type of seizure also depends on the person. One person may have Petit Mal (loss of sight for a few seconds or minutes) or Grand Mal (loss of all bodily function and known as flop like a fish) seizures. While some may have it their entire life others may grow out of it.
Do you or someone you know have Epilepsy? This is the group for you. To further add, you may know someone that has Epilepsy but not know they have it due to them not telling many if any people for various reasons. There are ways to cope and live with it. Like all things there are many misconceptions with epilepsy and all of them are untrue.
