Dear Aunt Sybil,

I just got in a horrible fight with a very old friend who emailed me to tell me she was dropping me from her Facebook friends. She said my updates were boring her!

This hurt me. She also went on to say that she loved me and that I was important in her life. I wrote back that I must not be that important, and that my work, which is what I usually post updates about, was more important than her. Then I said, "have a good life."

Then she called me. She was drunk, as I suspected, and didn't see anything wrong with dropping me. There is something more to this, something deeper, but I can't figure it out.

Please help.
