I am going to be with my Vampire Family this Halloween in New Orleans. I have been there a few times, but never as awakened.
I was just wondering if there were any suggestions of what to do and what to see as a Vampire.
The Cathedral and St.Louis Cemetery are already at the top of the list.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
A little greetings from France ! I plan to go to Louisiana next year and visit the cajun community the bayous, Bourbon street, the cemetaries etc etc before it is too late and the sea have flooded all this place :(
find boutique du vampire and wicked orleans those are great places to discover and socialize in.

are all around some of wich I have gone to include Marie Lavous voodoo shop and Rev zombies Voodoo shop. also Ozzy will be Headlining voodo fest and the Endless night Vampire ball is on Oct 30. So there will be pelnty of things to do that weekend . Hope you enjoy your trip .
I'm in Nola for halloween. I don't see what the difference is between going awakened or not though.... It's all going to be the same really.
Thank you all so much for the input.
For me the difference between going awakened as opposed to unawakened is the difference in the same places in a different form.
I have always had my tendency for being drawn to objects, but with out the knowledge of why. Similar to a child holding a book and seeing the words, yet not knowing what the words mean. The child learns to read, then the book takes on a whole new life.
I am very excited about New Orleans!!! I would say look for the large group of vampires and that will be us, but I am sure we will not be the only ones about.
Oh Im sure there will be many . Last time i was there I saw a few out
I want to go party in New Orleans sooo bad! My friend Theresa lives there.
i was planning on being there this year, but i can't... so next year :)
i am planning on going to New Orleans over Halloween Anne Rice The lestat fan club is throwing Menocks ball at the Hotel Monteleone, several bands will be there we are flyinh in on Thur. they are suppose to be a party thur.at the hotel then the ball is on Fri. night and on sat at the house blues their is another party thee it is sponspored by Father Sebastian but i heard the tickets for that would be 100.00 a piece ( i do not know this fr sure) but i know some one that lives their and they are going to take us sight seeing i already have reservations from thur. until Mon. at The Hotel Monteleone which they claim to be haunted it self. So i will be there message me if you want any more info i love to talk about it because i am so excitied about going this time i wanted to go last year but i ust couldn't. Lady Cara
I don't think the vampire Lestat Ball is at the Monteleone Hotel...the events there are part of Undead-Con which is new this year but affiliated with the ARVLFC who puts on the ball every year, (I'm a resident and volunteer my service to put the ball on). If you go to ARVLFC website you can find a list of all the scheduled events since all the different factions are linked, including Endless Nights.
As for "vampires," lol...really, just a bunch of blood fetishists, roleplayers, lifestylers, posers or however you want to put it. if ya'll really want to see NOLA "before its sinks,' or whatever someone said above; how about coming down during the off season and spreading some tourist love. That's when we need visitors. And yes, the Monteleone is haunted...just like almost every inch of the french quarter. Look at the history of death and trauma that is still going on. their are more spirits than you can imagine. I just wish visitors to my city would stop treating it like a friggin spook house or disneyland and come here with the intent of learning a little something about our REAL culture and history and not the bs that the tourist population loves to choke on.
I've always wanted to go to New Orleans. My best friend Theresa lives there now. I should be going there in the future to visit her. Don't forget to tell us how your trip went!
I've never actually gone during Halloween itself but one of my nearest and dearest used to help put on The endless Nights Festival and would drive me crazy because I'd never come. Maybe some day. Anyway be wary of anyone trying to draw you into unknown places. Do your homework before you go. I'm sure you'll want to see lots of new places but don't be foolish about it. Key thing is Have fun!
