Alas the angel lark it floats

shadows lost beneath it's wing

the river harsh does it flow

I spy it sinking.



Weeping slow,a song,

tearing through rapids mist.

a funeral, I fore-go, an angel lark there sleeping. molting off the down, I can only wonder how or when it did it drown.



I hark thy name, in remembrance

I weep and I weep alone

where the earth reclaims you

you will soar the skies once more.
