Merkabah are angels of the chariot, the cherubim. The merkabah angels are 6 classes of angels closest to, or guardian of, the throne of Glory. They include the galgallim, the hayyoth, the ofanim, the seraphim.
Merkaboth, meaning carriage, there were or are 7 merkaboth, corresponding to the 7 heavens or actual vision of the divine might, they are to be compared to the middoth or the sefiroth.
Tool has a song titled Merkabah as well, it's a beautiful song. This was a short poem I wrote when I was 20, I had a near death experience and wrote it after a dream I had. Son of fire means an angel but enmeshed in clay means man.
Have you ever seen hellboy 2 the movie, the angel in it has eyes all over his wings, anyway....lols I like to study about the hierarchy of angels.
