The Dreariness of a Long Lost Love

Every day the heartbeat in me fades

Every night into darkness do I bathe

Every day, the light of hope falls dim

Every night, the nightmares of loneliness get more grim

All I see, only serves to remind me of what will never be again

All the love I feel, only serves to stab my heart and strangle my soul

No longer young, yet too young to die

No longer hopeful, yet too alive for my soul to fly

No more do I look to you

No more can I look upon you

In fear and silent and unseen tears do I pass the ticking of the clock

In a sea of sadness, is my heart forever docked
