Little Girl Lost

Ripped from my arms, and torn from my heart,
it's been nearly a year that we have been apart.
Little fingers, little toes, how I miss her little smile.
Even though she's not with me now,
I'll think about her all the while.
In truth her mother's addiction is what brought us to this end.
I know we weren't together, but still I called her friend.
It's true I let her use me, and alone I sat and cried.
Being part of her daughter's life is what kept me alive inside.
Saying how I feel, has never really been my style.
Little fingers, little toes, how I miss her little smile.
