A life of love or a life of pain?

Everyone knows they're one and the same

You're bright like the sun, you're dark as the night

And everything we do always feels right

I would wait for a day, or even a year

Just to have you close to me here

But love can be fleeting, like clouds in the sun

Even though yesterday you said I was the one

You moved on, I guess that's part of life

Though just last week you said I'd be your wife

You leave me now with a sense of dispair

I don't believe you ever really cared

I wanted you to put up a fight

I wanted you to hold onto me tight

You didn't do either, you love her the best

So why does all this cause me so much stress?

I knew this would happen, right from the start

So why am I surprised you played out your part?

And now, with grace, I shall say my goodbye

Because if you took everything else, you left me my pride
