A dark blue rose tucked in your hair
A wink a nod to the missing cares
Brandy words thick in your throat
The whip and lash as you sit and gloat
The doubt within my veins
The braided steel in candy canes
Sharpened down into a shank
Bitter sweet your deadly prank
Across my wrists you pull
Against the heartbeats rhythmic lull
Crimson spots flutter
While my soul begins to stutter
Yet the crossing bell it never tolls
Against the bloody rivets rolls
A stitch against the cut
My holes are suddenly sewn shut
The tragedy of this demise
It's that of the beholders eyes
Through sheer will against goodbyes
I'll live to see another sunrise
Random poem I wrote the other day after my return to poetry journal. Just now got around to putting it in here.
