A department supervisor at work is "No Longer With the Company", which translates to "He was fired".
He had been with the company for over 20 years and was within 5 years of retirement. Word on the street is that he flipped out at the HR Director after being told who his new boss was to be.
His old boss was recently made "No Longer With The Company", and THAT's a good thing. She was a royal bitch and I'm surpized it took them so long to get rid of her. I had uncovered her falsifying doccuments and forgung sign=offs on doccuments several months ago. At the time they just shifted her responsibilities slightly, I through a hissy fit and they asked me "Well, What do you think we should do?" I didn't hesitate and said "Walk her out of the buliding immediatly!"
We have another supervisor who is totally incompedant. He works on 2nd shift and spends the evening surfing the 'net, chatting on the phone and not leaving the office. One of the Process Technicians that work for me ends up dealing with all of the issues on the shift that this guy should.
Well the rumor mill says that Mr. Incompetant was to be the new department manager for the supervisor who is "No Longer With The Company". Well, if they told me I was going to be working for that loser I would go off the deep end too!
I can't understand why people who are honest and hard working rarely get ahead and liars, lazy assed kiss asses and general assholes prosper!
I'm getting pretty pissed off.
Evry time I try to go to an HE internal page, or forum I get logged off of VR. I wonder if someone is trying to tell me something?
I either get a message saying that I am trying to access a house that I am not allowed, or that I have been logged off for "hammering". WTF?
I wonder if Images has sent me to VR purgatory! Likely one too many bad jokes, smutty double entendres or not so suble innuendos!
This is the video for the song I currently have on my profile.
That's what the doctir told me after I woke up from my colonoscopy this morning. He had to remove 3 polyps during the procedure. Had I waited the 3 years until I reached the "standard" age to have a first colonoscopy it is highly possible that one of the three would have become cancerous. My oldest sister died at age 53 rom colon cancer.
It was well worth the crappy day of preperation to have peace of mind.
I go back for another in 3 years.
I am on 100% "clear liquids" until tomorrow morning. I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy at 7:30 tomorrow morning. I am a miserable grumpy S.O.B. when I am hungry...So I am just having a wonderful day!
I have to leave work at 1:30 and go home and take laxative pills. At 8:00PM I have to drink a very strong laxative so that by tomorrow morning I'm clean as a whistle inside! THEN I get to go have a camera shoved up my ass!
I am trying to convince Gina to take a magic marker and wright on my butt "One Way Do Not Enter!" I figure the doctor would get a kick out of that!
I miss hangman!
I moved this past weekend, I still do not have internet at the new place so I got on VR yesterday for a bit at work and all seems well.
This morning I get in to work, go through my emails and then check VR. No f-in Hangman? No message system. WTF?
What the hell was so important about earning favor that it was worth cheating? Did your House or Coven move up in the standings? SO FRIGGIN WHAT? Did you earn a Mark from your Society Master?...Is it truly an honor to get a mark due to cheating?
I hope you miserable childish sons of bitches are happy that you A) wasted the administrator's time while you were cheating and B) Caused all of us to lose games we enjoyed because of your cheating.
Why don't you do us all a fovor and delte your account before Cancer finds you out and does it for you.
I was jarred out of a very sound sleep once again by the call of “Polar Bears!” by the Scoutmaster. At least this time I knew what was going on! I got up, put on my bathing suit and gathered with the rest of the troop. This day we had all of the leaders again and 7 scouts who woke up for the swim.
After the swim, morning colors and breakfast we all headed back to camp to get ready for the day’s activities. I had nothing going on in the morning so I took the time to wander around the reservation and take some pictures. I was walking down the camp road towards the falls and I saw a nice little stream running through the woods.
I came to the end of the camp road and ventured off towards Resica Falls, where I snapped a few shots.
Next I headed up to the Lake, as I knew my son would be working on a fishing merit badge. The map of the camp showed the trail to the lake as being 1 mile long. I figured one mile would just be an easy stroll, as I had already walked about 3 miles from camp to the falls and back…I was wrong. The trail to the lake was very steep and consisted of loose gravel and big rocks. I felt like I was going to die by the time I got to the top! I was able to catch some shots of David fishing before we had to walk back to camp for lunch.
After lunch our troop was scheduled for a “Troop Shoot” at the rifle range. We each got a turn to fire 15 rounds at targets, even the adults! My poor son had never shot a gun with iron sights before, and it showed. He completely missed the paper of the target with all 15 shots! I did much worse than I am capable of, but still put 10 shots “in the black”. The rifle was way too small for me, and the rules of the range were that the barrel of the arm had to rest on a notch on a fence rail. Well my big gut made it almost impossible to get that close to the ground!
After our shoot we went back to camp, got changed into “Class As”, lowered the flags in camp and headed off to the parade ground for Colors and then dinner.
After dinner I was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Scoutmaster was looking for help in setting up a ceremonial fire. He “volunteered” me to help. So we took some axes and saws and headed towards the site for the fire, which was halfway to the Lake. When we got to the area where the fire was to be built, there was no wood anywhere to be found. We had to go scrounge for wood in the surrounding forest area, cut and chop it to size and try to build the fire base. We barley got started with the cutting and chopping before it got too dark to work safely. We all walked back to camp, hit the showers and then headed off to bed.
Happily there was no rain and it was a nice cool night to sleep.
Monday morning at 6:30 I was startled awake by the Scoutmaster yelling "Polar Bears!...Wake up Polar Bears!". WTF? I thought. Apparently some sort of credit is given if a certain percentage of the trop and the leaders
show up to go swimming at 7:00 AM each day. So I groggily got out of my cot, got my bathing suit on and went outside. We (ALL of the leaders and 3 kids) walked over to the pool and got in our "Polar Bear" swim.
After swimming we rushed back to camp and got dressed then marched over to the morning colors ceremony on the parade field. After the State, Boy Scout and American flag were raised we were dismissed for breakfast. After breakfast (and after EVERY meal I soon realized) we were treated to a song by one of the camp staff,
"for our entertainment". Well, none of them were particullary entertaining...but I guess it's a summer camp tradition of sorts.
After breakfast we returned to camp and got ready for the morning activities. All of the boys headed off to Merit Badge classes. Myself and two of the other adult leaders walked 2 miles to the Ranger station to attend a "New Leader's Essentials" class. The instructor arrived 20 min. late. The class consisted of the instructor showing a goofy video and reading some power point slides. It lasted for 3 hours! But now I'm "officially trained"!
After the training class we went back to camp and then to lunch. When lunch was over the kids went and did some work on their merit badges, went swimming and other stuff. The adults sat around in camp shooting the B.S..
When time came for Evening colors we all had to get into out "Class A" uniforms and go stand on the Parade field while the colors were lowered. "Clean Camp" awards were then given out and then we were dismissed for dinner.
One of the other leaders made cinnamon rolls in a Dutch Oven after dinner. We enjoyed them around 9:30, right after which it began to rain, thunder, lightning and then REALLY rain. As there was not much to do in the pouring rain,
everyone went to bed for the night.
I was hoping this was not going to be a pattern over the week. I really was looking forward enjoying the cool Pocono nights
Where do I start? I suppose the begining!
I'll do this chronologically as best as I can remember.
We met on Sunday 7/29 at the Scout cabin at 9:30AM. We had loaded up the trailer with most of our equipment on Saturday night, so we just had to wait for everyone to arrive at the cabin and break up into car loads of kids for the trip. The Scoutmaster, of course, was late and didn't arrive until 10:00! We got organized into
carloads and hit the road by 10:20.
The ride up to camp was only about an hour and a half. We stopped at a park near the camp and ate lunch as we waited for our "check in time" to arrive. At the appointed time we droveon into camp where we got a surpize. Another troop had been given the campsite we had reserved months before. Apparently they had so many kids they wouldn't fit into any of the open sites available, so they moved us andgave them the site we had chosen. Oh well, this ment we got to camp right next to the camp road and near the dining hall with an exhause fan that ran 24/7.
We got checked in, and got our introductory tour of the camp then took our swimming test...I failed! I have been swimming since I was 5, in pools, lakes, seas, oceans, sounds, bays...but I caught a snoot full of water and my feet touched bottom, so I failed! Now I'm officially a "Beginner" swimmer!
We eventualy got our trailer unloaded and the camp set up just in time for "Evening Colors"
and dinner. After dinner we had the opening campfire. The theme of the week was "Pirates"and the opening program
was full of pirate themed skits, songs and jokes. About halfway through the scheduled time for the activities it began to rain. We were dismissed and sent back to out campsites for the night...Just as we got back to camp
the sky opened up with torrential rain, that didn't stop until around 4:30 AM.
The tent my son was in had a very
big leak that was pouring water on both bunks, so he and his tent mate moved to an empty tent in the middle of the storm.
Not a very good night to sleep!
