5. For those of you who believe that being here on VR for a long time, buying a premium membership, or feeling that Cancer is your best friend, gives you special privileges, think again. I am not going to speak about who is Cancer's best friend or not, I'm simply going to say, that is not how Cancer wants his site to work and he puts those he trusts in the Admin positions.



Here is a little hint of how Cancer is hoping this website works. We have Acolytes, Sentorans, Dominars, Procurators, Master Vampires and Regents on this site. Generally if you have a complaint, a question, a comment, you start with the Acolytes. They will attempt to answer your question, if they cannot, they will refer the question to the appropriate person. Namely, if you have a suspension problem with your profile, port or journal, they will refer your question to a Sentoran. Same goes for Dominars and Procurators. If a Dominar, Sentoran or Procurator can't help, they will generally ask a Master Vampire or Regent for advice.



If you have a complaint on how an admin is doing their job, you speak to a Regent or Master Vampire. Trust me, they will investigate the complaint and bring it to the party in question.



These admins are set up so that people don't bug Cancer with the little stuff. We are set here to take care of business, as he continues to code and create new things for the DarkNetwork.

I have heard alot about this that and the other thing, about Admins not doing their job up to the expectations of the people of the DarkNetwork.



Here is a hint. Sentoran's aren't required to have coding expertise. If they state that they can't help, its because they can't help. That simple. They will generally point you towards someone that can help you fix the problem. If a Sentoran that doesn't know coding, helps you and makes your coding worse, wouldn't you get pissed? That is what some of the Sentoran's are trying to avoid.



Dominar's aren't babysitters. Some of them have lives. If you don't see them react in the box to something that happen in the box, nudge one. They might not have seen it. If you see something in a thread you think is inappropriate, nudge one of them.



Same with Sentorans, if you see a profile, port or journal that you feel is in violation, nudge a Sentoran. We can tell you whether it is in violation or not.



But know this. We have our own set of rules that have been set forth, to keep some consistancy in our suspensions. If you think we are targeting you, don't feel so special. Too many people on here for us to target. We will explain the TOS, we will explain our guideline, if you have a problem with how we do our job, don't sit and bitch, but go to another Admin, A Regent, or a Master Vampire. Let someone know, trust me, they will come and talk to us regarding complaints.





Please remember a couple key points.





1. Admins, from Acolytes to Regents and Master Vampires, are volunteers. We don't get paid to be abused by all of you, we do it for free. *Grins*





2. Unless you know how to do our job, unless you know the conversation we have had with Cancer, to understand our job. Don't assume you can do our job better and make better decisions. We have guidelines, but most of it is basically customer service and common sense. Please don't come to us and tell us, "suspend this person, kick this person." We will make the decision, based on the evidence, not your vendetta. We aren't chosen because we are power hungry, we are chosen because we care about this network and want to make it a better place.





3. Pedophiles. Do you realize going around and calling people pedophile in their profile rate stamp, is agains TOS? Do you realize that means you can be suspended from here? If you feel someone is a pedophile, send the conversation to a REGENT and they will make the decision. Don't get pissed at them, because they feel there isn't enough evidence to suspend the person. If its borderline, they will give a warning. There are legal things that they have to follow, to not only keep people safe, but to not put the DarkNetwork in court for slander. Again, allow them to do their job. They are good at it, or they wouldn't be in that position.





4. Harassment. If a person is flaming you in a public area, such as the vamp box, forum threads (dominars) or in you rate box (Regents), contact the appropriate Admin and allow them to handle it. You will hear, that "Block is your friend." It is. Most Admins will not get involved in a personal dispute unless it involves one of their Coven or House members. Other than that, we are not allowed to get involved. If you are having a private message war with someone, simply block and the war has ended. If you are having a journal war, talk to a sentoran, to see if it is out of line. Otherwise....GROW UP and use the block button. This is a website not the real world.





In the past 14 hours, I have dealt with every single one of these points and with every one, people trash the admins for not doing their jobs. Do you want to see the hate mail I get? Do you want to see how many Coven Masters believe that I am harassing their covens, or their members, simply because I suspended one of their members? Do you really think that I purposely pick a coven and get out my microscope and go over the profiles to suspend for bs? No, I don't. I don't have the time and its not me.



I understand frustration at the admins, but please stop and put yourself in our shoes. We come on here to help and we bite our tongues and do our best to be professional and give the customer service that Cancer has asked us too. We don't deserve your attacks, your name calling, we simply ASK for your understanding. We are people too, we are not perfect, we simply try.



Can you try too? That is my Christmas wish.

I was recently approached by someone, who had a second account, who wanted entry into my coven. When asked why, he stated because he was good with html and css and he wanted to help with my profile help page and help my members with their profiles.



I explained that my coven wasn't about coding, but it was a haven for the teens of the Dark Network.



The next message, asked me for the CSS for the page, so he could put it in his other coven. To say the least, I said no.



He then went on about how he wanted to make it easier for his members to get to it, instead of clicking three things to get to it. Like going to the Forum thread, clicking the link and then clicking the help page. He also stated since it was the Darknetwork profile help page, that it should be in each and very coven and house on Vampirerave, to make it an easier access to all. He stated that I should give the code to each society and then charge the society for the use of the code, like charging rent.



*sighs* Honestly, Its frustrating. I created this to help others with the coding, but it was offered to Cancer, for him to post within VR, to help people, no strings attached. He asked me to host it instead. He moved my thread to the main forums and made it sticky. We created a banner, so societies could post it within their forums, their coven pages, or for people to put it directly onto their profiles. Yet the way this person acted and what he said, it seems like he is saying I am being selfish.



*Depressed Sigh* Apparently, I can't please everyone. So what do you think?
