I guess that's what I get for not logging in over the past few years, and of course all of the messages visible to me were birthday cakes. LOL
I'm not complaining, only reflecting.
As I've been on and off of VR now for 20 years now, it's accurate to say this place has seen me evolve and devolve multiple times; it's seen me grow from a wild teenager to a slightly less wild adult who's now approaching middle age. I've reconciled with every version of myself along the way, and I return to the conclusion that VR will always feel like my first and true 'online home' moreso than any place else.
The past few years have brought everything from heartbreaking grief to revitalizing love. I've closed many chapters, severed ties I always hoped to never cut, lost, and learned. Isn't that the way for so many of us?
However, in the midst of so much loss and pain, I also moved to a new city, found love, and got married. Some people reading this may think, 'Congrats!'; I'm sure another good many are thinking, 'Oh shit, that poor guy.' LOL Both are valid.
To the people I've missed...Hello.
To some of the former friends I've lost...I wish you well.
To everyone else...I still don't give a fuck.
