He took one look at my costume and called it "pure evil". This "pure evil" was a celebration of a bountiful harvest and a nod to pre-christian beliefs. I think it was the horns he didn't like.

You fucking wish. Simpletons like you WISH that evil was that easy to spot, you WISH it wore horns so your simple minds could grasp on to what you for sure know is right and wrong. You fucking WISH that I was the face of evil so you could jerk your meat and then burn me at the stake. But no, it's not that easy. Evil doesn't wear horns or upside down crosses (I wasn't wearing those, by the way, I'm not a dickhead) no, evil wears a fucking suit and caked makeup and merely dangles the temptation of turning on you fellow humans. Evil isn't a woman celebrating her garden, it's someone convincing you that all the people around you deserve to suffer if they're different, too brown, too gay, or anything about them is too hard for your simple fucking brain to grasp.

Evil is defending pedophiles.

Evil is covering for pedophiles.

Evil is grifting at a memorial.

Kids being shot at school wasn't enough of an outrage for you, nor was a lawmaker being murdered in their own home, but THIS is what finally gets your attention. The death of a person who called all the other violence acceptable and even necessary, that death is what has pricked your sensibilities and made you speak out, WELCOME!

Welcome to the nightmare we have all been talking about! Now we can hopefully meet on common ground and realize that we need to fucking do something about this culture that has been festering for years. No more excuses, no more scapegoating, let's actually address the real issue here and use some common sense.


Some of y'all are very proud of how you do your own research, so let's start there. If you're outraged, use that, and look into what work others have been doing (for decades now) to name issues and propose solutions. If you want to fold your hands in your lap and say "That's just the way it is" then do us a favor and shut the fuck up about how you find it vile that people don't grieve this most recent violent loss, because you don't actually care, you're just tone policing and it's laughable.

Ran across some trump supporters last night, folks who kind of know us and know that we've been gardening like crazy this year with a very nice production and they kept making comments about how they can come to our house if society breaks down because we have food.

I sipped my drink and laughed where appropriate because of course it's a joke.

2. You don't like Mexicans, and Mexican hands worked this soil, planted, and harvested, so I wouldn't want to be part of you waffling on your "values".

I bit my tongue because all I wanted to say was "What??? I thought you knew things were going to get BETTER! I thought we were going to be great again what happened, peaches? What happened??? I thought he was going to fix everything DAY ONE but now you're worried? Poor baby!"
