Someone asked me once which weapon I prefer.
I said it depends.
They thought I was avoiding the question.
I wasn't.
A katana requires discipline.
You cannot rush a blade. You cannot become angry and expect anger to compensate for bad technique. Every movement has purpose. Every mistake belongs to you.
There is honesty in that.
I like honesty.
A gun has different virtues.
I have a Glock 17. Nine millimetre. It is not elegant. It has no soul, no tradition, and very little interest in whether the person holding it has spent decades perfecting his technique.
Point. Decide. Done.
Efficient.
There are days when efficiency is underrated.
It also allows you to remain at a respectable distance from whatever mess follows.

I have never asked how she knows.
Then there are fists.
Fists are inefficient.
They require proximity. They hurt. They are messy. There are almost always better options available.
Which is precisely the point.
You don't use your fists because they are the best weapon.
You use them because somewhere along the way, the matter stopped being practical.
It became personal.
So, if I had to choose?
The katana when the opponent deserves my skill.
The Glock when the problem simply needs to disappear.
My fists when someone has pissed me off.
Kat read this over my shoulder.
She says I have forgotten a fourth option.
Apparently, I also have “the face.”
I have no idea what that means.
She assures me I use it frequently.

Well, my wife does own the 'face' weapon and is an expert in its use. I've suffered it many times, and it is very effective, very effective indeed.
