I was honestly ready to scream and pull out my hair over trying to find the vehicle I wanted and could afford. Finally I talked to my brother who spent 20+years in the car business and he went to work for me.
The bank is now processing my paperwork after having approved my loan for a 2010 Chev Equinox, silver with a black and lt gray leather interior. It has the rear backup camera and alarm sensors too so I'll be a lot happier about backing up when my neck is really too sore to twist as far as I'd like. I've already paid my first 2 months insurance on it and go back in the morning to pick up the bank check and my own cashiers for my down payment and take them to the dealer where he's going to clean it all up nice and spiffy and fill it with gas then it's all mine well me and the bank. lol
Honestly it drives me bat shit crazy to deal with trading or buying a car, I'm so happy my brother called this morning said go to the dealer and ask for >>>> then tell him you're my sister and he'll take care of it all for you. Oh yeah! God bless my brother :)
But I'm also relieved to have it over with as I need to take my nephew to the Cinn childrens hospital next week and it'll be tons more comfortable for us all than my little car.
I couldn't resist going by Rat's and showing her, she knows exactly how crazy it's had me going and she celebrated with me. Thanks sugar. Now to find Birdie and get her yahoo :)
This week started off with my sister having surgery and me spending the whole day at the hospital with her but everything went well so it's good. Back early Tuesday to pick her up and bring her home, why is it the doctor says you can go home in the morning and yet it's always closer to noon before the hospital lets you go? lol But she's home and all is good with the world.
In the meantime some money I was waiting on finally came about 2 months late but at least it came so I've been paying off a lot of debts this week, which required a lot of running around and phone calls. But it feels really great to be nearly out of dept totally. Just one small account left that I can pay off in about 3 months if I knuckle down on it.
I've still got to get a new vehicle since I sold my car to my sister but I'm really wanting a GMC terrain so I've got to figure out if I can get what I want in it. Over 30mpg makes it among the best suv's out there in my price range. My brother did tell me that he'd kick my ass if I got anything other than black, white, red or silver in color as they hold their value much more than any other and I guess 20+ years in the car business ought to make him the expert on that fact. lol So probably silver or charcoal gray will be the way to go, white and black are too hard to keep clean looking and red is the first in line for the cops to pull over when they're looking for a ticket so there it is my color is picked. lol
We've also moved a lot of furniture around and turned the spare bedroom where lots of junk was stored back into a bedroom for my niece and she's thrilled. We've done the room in her school colors of red, black, gray and white and she's jumping around like a little kid, can't wait to show her girlfriends her new room. So sometime this weekend I suspect there will be a lot of teenage squealing going on here. lol
But there's still a lot to get done, we've decided to get ruthless and clean out down to minimalist type living so we're not drowning in junk. Harder to do than to say though so we fuss a lot over what stays and goes. lol Gotta love pack hogs!

I hope your sister gets well soon! and, doesn't it feel good when you get the bills out of the way! One feels free!
I tend to hord things, you never know when they might come in handy!
Great news about your Sister.
Watching Hording: Buried Alive... this show always makes me want to throw things out.
The first of the week was horribly hot staying near 100 temperatures every day with the heat index well over that and it was very hard to get anything done and it played havoc with my breathing. Seems that right lung still isn't working right... I just needed to hang on til the end of the week for the storms to get here and cool it back down to the 70-80 degree area, but I ended up back at the doctor yesterday, my pleurisy has come back again, though I doubt it's every really cleared up at all completely.
I had to get a chest x-ray done today for him to see how it's looking. The lady doing it was friendly so as she was checking the final picture before letting me leave I walked over and got to look at it on her screen. She was staring at it and switching views like their was something wrong so I told her the right lung was deflated during surgery at christmas but never fully re-inflated and scar tissue had formed at the bottom of the cavity so now it cannot fully expand. She said okay that explains it because it's very plain on the side by side xray picture that my left lung stretches down about 4 inches further than my right side. So I'm going to have to talk to my doctor and see if there is another method to clear this up without having major surgery again, though that's what another doctor told me would be required to fix it. :(
I've got family in this week, my elder brother and his wife have been here since Sunday and as he's also my landlord we've been doing lots of work around the house and as much outside as the heat will allow. He's wanting to blacktop our driveway instead of just re graveling it because that's just not lasting long at all. Also we need some serious yard maintenance done of the requiring fill dirt and a good backhoe. Since some of the windstorms have pulled pieces of the vinyl siding off, he's working on fixing them himself.
You know what the hardest part of moving two rooms full of furniture around is? emptying all the junk in the closets and drawers and finding a place to keep them until you finish! But we're making headway and hey goodwill is seeing a lot of us again this week. But it sure keeps a body busy.

Ashphalt is better looking than gravel anyway and will look nice. The only issue is the heat can make it soft. I like emptying the rubbish out of my cupboards and drawers, I always find things lost months before.
Went over to Rat's last night and had a wonderful grilled meal along with fresh green beans and new potatoes *don't tell Rat but some cornbread would have been awesome* lol
Then we headed out and found a good spot to watch the local fireworks show and it was awfully good too.
Back at Rat's we went with a truly historic 4th of July movie..... Independence Day! No matter how many times I see that movie it's still fun especially with us sitting around trying to match up the quips in the film to older sci-fi movies.
It was a fun night and I hope we don't have such a long time before we all gather again.

Cornbread... darn it. :)
Sounds like an awesome way to spend the holidays. I think you might have forgotten the rum and cheesecake though for it to truly be an unforgetable day :P
