Apparently, and sadly, Icelandic is becoming a dying language with only around 340,000 speakers worldwide. I will be one of them, because I'm learning the language due to it being the most similar to Old Norse.. I wanted to be able to read Old Norse scripts so this seemed like a good way to start.
Besides, Iceland is a beautiful country and if I ever want to get away it would be imperative to learn their language.
