For Christmas I got the very best gift.
Myself,my friend and boss and her sisters and family decided we were going to take Christmas to a little nursing home here close by.I was the reindeer with bells and we had elves and Santa.We got and wrapped gifts for 130+ patients and visited each one and spent some time with them.I cannot even describe to you how it felt.But my Christmas was full of this...
Bless you Oceanne for having such a chartiable heart.. I also did a bit of charity work this Christmas and distributed dolls to children in need. Why is it that Pisceans' are mostly associated with giving.. Happy Holidays darling and take some time for yourself and your horses too x
That was truly a gift indeed , I only wish people had done that when I worked in the homes , there were lots of elderly people who never saw anyone . Bless you you have a true gift Of Love .

We all know Holly has been associated with Christmas for centuries.But where did it all start?
Well,its origins can be traced back to Northern Europe and was celebrated as a plant of great importance by the Pagans.It has also been said that it was because of the plant's year around green leaves with the jagged edge that made it a perfect canidate to wear around the heads of Druids when they ventured into the forest for their ceremonies.It resembled a crown of sorts.
Originally,it was an offering given to the God Saturn by the Romans during a festival called Saturnalia.It was believed that the Holly plant was the sacred and favored plant of Saturn.If you look closely you will see that most,if not all paintings or drawings of Saturn depict him with Holly in hand.It was considered a very special gift and was exchanged with high regard as to its symbolism.
At some point,the plant became significant to Christians.At first,it was placed on doors to prevent prosecution.This "power" of the Holly was not limited to the mundane.It was thought to ward off Demonic forces as well.It was hung on doors to prevent the entry of Terrifying spectres during the holy seasons.Eventually, the use of Holly became mainstream and became an important part of Christmas celebration.As expected,the Hollys' original meaning became more and more obscure and less recognized by Christians,but still used in their celebrations.
You always find the most interesting topics for discussion :) *sighs* I miss NS.. we had so much going on in there at one time, however I think the interest at VR and the new updates kill it.

Well It isn't advisable to use magic for personal gain as something always goes wrong when you do . its always best to get someone to do it for you .
