My responce..
"10 days.... those can be the longest days of my life.. but I accept them.. because it is less then 365 days.. It is less then 200 days.. it is less then 100 days.. it is less then 50 days..
10 days.. that is a drop in the bucket compaired to the days that have past already.. and the days that will come.. For in 10 days I will have you home for 30 days. Though you will have to go away again after that time, I will take those 30 days with all the love I have in my heart and give them back to you with just as much love.

I was talking to a dear friend about experiences being a Military spouse. I have found that, recently, I have been speaking allot to people both online and off on this subject. So I wish to share something that I find I have said so often to not just others, but to my solider as well.
"I am as strong as I need to be, when I need to be. So that I can be weak within his arms."
This is the life that I choose, the path that I walk willingly. The soldier that I married and the ARMY that provides for us, this is the price I pay so that others do not have too. I tuck my children in at night and assure them that they are loved, that Daddy loves them and will see them soon. I fill the role of Mother and Father while my soldier is away. There are many like me, who do this because this is our life and we accept that. It is not always easy and it is not always with out a great cost. I have made friends and I have lost them.
I have been there, by choice, when a young soldier has had to tell his new wife that he has to deploy for x amount of time. I have been there to check on them and to cry with them, to comfort them and to watch their children when they need a break. And yes.. I have been the one who receives a phone call at 3 am that says “My soldier is coming home, can you drive me to the airport to pick him up?” and I have gladly done that.
I do not ask anyone to do this, because it is so very true when people say.. It takes a strong person, a certain type of person.. A person who will pay the price because the rewards, often times not seen for many years, are all worth it. To be a Military spouse.
To be the one that stays behind and keeps the family together and the home squared away so that my soldier, our soldiers, does not worry. So they can focus upon what they need to do and where they need to be.
So I have been getting some not so nice messages from people and some great messages from people as well. To those who have sent the great messages, thank you very much. To those who have sent the not so nice messages, you come live the life of a military spouse.. See how you like it.. Better yet.. You come live the life of a soldier and you tell me who has their priorities straight. When you have made the sacrifices that the soldiers make.. You come tell me, to my face, that my husband deserves to die for his participation in the war..
I am waiting and I promise, I will keep waiting.. Not just for my soldier to come home, but for you to come tell me what you have to say.
Rating the Database pet peeve..

OK so maybe it’s to early in the morning for me.. But this has been bugging me for weeks now..
WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!
What the hell is up with people rating the database like they would a profile?? Telling a book or an article of clothing that it can stalk, bite or add you to its friends list?
Telling it that if it has any questions to feel free to ask you. That you will assist it at any time it needs. Then there is my ultimate favorites.. “Welcome to VR!!” and “I hope you enjoy your stay here!”
Come on.. I understand that you want people to know you have rated something.. But.. Come on.. I could see a stamp that says "Rated by" on it.. But the rest of it??
