A guy I know started critiquing some of my photos because the shadows were too strong (entire point of why I lit it that way) and he finishes by saying he just wants me to "be the best I can be." Like I asked him to be my Sensei. I ignored him because he lit every every one of his photos like a yearbook headshot. Jackass...

It's YOUR art. There is no "wrong" way. Wrong way according to who, the Art Police? I get that initial feeling, but you are free to express it in YOUR way. Don't let their negativity ruin what you deem the way YOU want to.

@Morrigon exactly! This person seems to want to be a "mentor" like figure to my food art but puts almost nothing creative on the table.

Art is what you see and when you yourself know you have gave it your all you are the only one at the end of day that counts. I have come across people like this too and I tell myself I like it and that is all that matters and I did it because it is my passion. NO one else likes it than tough nuggies.

For the same reason a coconut contains both Meat and Milk.
There is a debate for example: Plant based milks; are they milks?
For modern times the media likes to push ignorance. But soya milk has been used for hundreds of years. Yup. Hundreds.
Why would I not call mock meat, meat? If I let a few people question my creations, that's fine. But they aren't getting paid for my art. So, yeah. :P

Veganism also isn't new. A lot of people stop eating the flesh of animals for religious reasons. Kosher meat can only go so far. You can't drain all the blood from an animal. Some modern Jews are vegan. Seventh day Remnants try to be vegan.
Parts of Jamaica are vegan, etc.

And now let's go to almond milk. Have you noticed that milk spoils faster? People of the middle ages drank almond milk.
