Depression

05:44 Dec 17 2008
Times Read: 601

It is the holidays,, aren't we all suppose to be happy and thankful for all that we have and not dwell over the things that we don't have?

And yet, I sit here, missing my mother, my father and wishing that I was a child once again. Both my parents passed on, my husband passed on, and I feel at times very much alone.

I have children, many of them, they are my life. I am very thankful for all that they are and all that they have gave to me. Why can't that be enough. Why to I need to feel the affection of another, the intimacy of two bodys together sharing one soul. What is wrong with me?

I hate this depression, I hate not being able to be me, I hate having writers block... Hate hate hate,, and yet I know that hate starts off as a tiny black hole and grows more and more until your entire soul is black and bitter.. I don't want to hate, I don't want to be depressed.. I want to be loved, not lied to, not decieved,, but a real love.. Tell me why is it so important that I need that one thing?

First off I am sorry for the pain you feel. To me no matter what people say or think we all crave that same thing as you. I to crave the same thing and for 2 years I have been alone when it comes to that craving. Maybe one day soon you and me both will find that right person to have and share real love. As for the hate well I am sure you will not let it go that far you seem far to nice from that.

It's an important part of life... most people have that need. You're not unusual in that regard.

Maybe right now you just need to revel in the life of your children. So much energy, enthusiasm and wonder... kids are wonderful for taking your mind off of the things that trouble you. ;)

Eventually you will find someone... or someone will find you. It always happens when you lease expect it. Just don't close yourself off... no one can find you when you do that. Even though it hurts, you do need to put your heart out there...

The Halloween Series

Ghost, goblins, witches, and evil clowns. The devil’s birthday and spooky sounds. This is what we think of when we think of Halloween. But do we really know what the day really means?

Let’s break it down bit by bit, Hallow (meaning to make sacred or to regard as holy) - Ween - (to desire, attain, to think and imagine) of course according to Webster. So how exactly do we get the ghost and goblins that treat or trick on every October 31st. Where did this come about and why is the belief that it is an evil holiday rumored throughout the country.

How many of us have actually seen a ghoul, or a goblin, a vampire or werewolf? Are they not just that of superstition folk lore? Why is it said that the evil souls that have been sent to hell are free to roam the earth on just one day of the year,, hollow’s eve? And why does the evil only come out when the sun goes down and the moon is high up in the sky? Is it not true that evil surrounds us everyday? Murders, rape, child abduction, abuse,, is this all not considered evil? The true evils of the world are always right in front of us.

I would like to hit on some truly evil events that have taken place in real life. We all have heard the story’s of Bram Strokers, Dracula which was based on the real life character of Vlad Tepes also know as the Impaler. In truth Vlad was not a vampire.. He was however an evil man. Bram took his incredible story and turned it into a work of fiction art.

Vlad was actually the ruler of Wallachia, a province south of Transylvania, which is now a part of Romania. He gained the name “The Impaler” because he impaled thousands of men, woman and children upon stakes and spikes. His father, Vlad 2 was known as Dracul, or devil. Dracula means the ’son of the devil’. It has been rumored that Vlad had drank the blood of his enemies on at least one occasion, however, there is no evidence to support this. Despite of the fact that it couldn’t be proven that he drank the blood of his victims, a woodcut shows him dining while surround by his impaled victims on stakes, - his favorite form of punishment.

In 1447 Vlad the second was killed, and his sons Vlad the third and Radu fled to Ottoman court. Which had been an ongoing battle between their father and the Turks for many years. Vlad the third gained control during 1456 - 1462. During his second reign it was stated that Vlad had killed 20,000 men, woman and children in a short period of time. If Vlad had suspected anyone of treason, he had them and their families tortured and impaled. He would also lock people in there rooms and burned them. On other occasions he forced people to dig their own graves and then had them beheaded at the graveside. He boiled people alive in a cauldron, forcing them to put their heads through holes in the lid so that they could not move. He boiled to death a Tarter thief and forced other Tartars to eat him. He was also known for impaling woman who were nursing their infants, and when the mother died, he cut off their breast and stuffed the infants inside of them.

All of these accounts are sure acts of true evil. However, none of this was said to have been committed on the day of Halloween. So again, why is Halloween such an evil day when evil takes place everyday?

Elizabeth Bathony

When I say the name Elizabeth Bathory,, does it ring any bells? For those of you who have never studied the real evil people in our world, it probably wouldn't. I felt compelled to share her story. Although she is not as well known as Dracula (Vlad Tepes), her crimes are nonetheless gruesome.

Bathory was born in 1560 in Ecsed, Transylvania to a noble family who dominated the southeast of Hungary, which is now a part of Romania. It was said that she was a beautiful child with a great temper. (Spoiled is what we call em now a days) At the young age of 14 she became pregnant by a peasant man she was sequestered until she gave birth. At the age 15 she married a wealthy man, who was many years older then her. She went to live in Castle Savar, Count Ference Nadasdy's family estate.

She soon became sadistic to servants and peasants. Elizabeth enjoyed greatly tormenting pretty girls. It was reported that a cousin of her husband's got caught stealing fruit and for punishment had her tied to a tree and smeared with honey to attract insects. Her husband had also taught her to torture the servants by putting oiled paper between their toes and setting the paper on fire.

By the age of 25 Elizabeth was terrified of losing her beauty. This was a fear that grew more and more every year. After her husband's sudden death Elizabeth began to lead a very twisted double life. She had dabbled in many of the black arts (magic) and befriended a woman by the name Anna Darvulia who brought out her worse.

It wasn't long before Bathory was introduced to the benefits of blood. She punished a clumsy maid she took a pair of scissors and struck the girl in the face causing the girls blood to splash upon Elizabeth's hand. She then believed that the blood helped her skin look young and refreshed.

She concluded this theory with Anna and was told that bathing in the blood of virgins would indeed keep her young and beautiful. And thus is how the Blood Countess got her name. At four in the morning, every morning, Elizabeth would bath in the fresh blood of a virgin girl. Serving girls were fattened up, tortured, bled and killed. The victims were procured by two old woman and an individual named Fitzko. Bathory would have the girls tied up so tightly that their blood would spray out when they were cut with scissors or pricked with pins. She would also have hot pokers stuck into their mouths and when she was done bleeding them she had them beaten to death with a whip. This was not only the horrific acts of the blood countess. She would also iron her victims feet with a hot iron, pour cold water on them as they stood naked in the snow and forced them to eat the cooked flesh of other serving girls who had been killed by the wrath of the blood countess.

One of Bathory's favorite acts of torment was to sit beneath a cage full of servant girls that was hoisted up off the floor. The cage was lined with sharp spikes, and the girls were prodded into the spikes with burning irons. This way Elizabeth had her own blood shower, she reportedly forced her serving girls to lick the blood off her back.

Bathory's journals reportedly listed the names of more than 600 victims. All of Elizabeth's accomplices were tried and convicted. One was beheaded and burnt, and two had their fingers torn off one by one with hot pincers, and than they were burned alive.

Elizabeth was not arrested or tried, most likely do to her being royalty. Nonetheless, she was punished. Her cousin believed her to be insane, and had her walled up in her bedroom in her castle at Csejthe. Slits let in air but very little light. Food was sent in through a slot. There she lived in isolation and misery until August 21, 1614 when suddenly she died.

This is another act of evil,, one again that does not mention the evil day of Halloween. Could it be that some people's soul is already set to do the work of the devil? Free will they say, but it is really free will when our path has already been written? What about these poor girls who suffered so terribly at the hands of a psycho woman? The list continues on and so will my stories of true evil of Halloween.

This is true,,, however it really amazes me how many don't even know who she is.. I've brought up the name to several people and they don't have a clue who she is.. Someone who had committed such crimes as she has, the entire world should know who she is.. Say the word Ted Bundy,,, he didn't do half the stuff Elizabeth had done and yet everyone knows who he is.. Strange isn't it..
