OK, here's the dilemma. I hate it when people add me to their friends list without asking, if I've never talked to them. Fair enough; most longtime members of this site feel that way.



BUT - if someone I've exchanged only one or two messages with, if that, asks me if they can add me, I tend to say yes even when I know they won't actually talk to me again.



Why? Is it because I don't want to offend anyone by saying no? Is it because I don't want people thinking I'm a nasty piece of work? I don't know.



Is it mean to turn round and say to someone, "To be honest, I'd prefer it if we could establish a friendship of sorts before you do that"? I don't think it is, so why don't I do that?



Need. To stop. Being. So bloody. NICE!



I'm gonna start doing that. I promise. If anyone else bothers to ask me.

I really wish Acolytes could see suspended profiles - or at least see the reason, such as:

I get so many messages from suspended members and I feel bad not being able to offer any help other than 'message a Sentoran'. I have in the past gottern them to send me their profile code and opened it up in my HTML viewer, but that takes time up and they can't always understand what I want them to do.
